My friend wants to sound like Peter Tagtarahrentargtren and Paul Kuhr. He shows me his growl and it sounds identical to Nick Holmes (so much he could cover him and no one would know). So I play him new Paradise Lost without saying it sounds like him just to see if he likes it. He completely despises vocals and calls them garbage.

But he thinks his own vocals are really good.

I don't have the heart to tell him.

Holmes growls sound good but only after some production.

But, being fair, most growls suck without at least some reverb.

And i cant add reverb to mine because it immediately sounds like I overdid the reverb and ive got no idea why :confused emoticon:

It's the production that takes them from pretty good to slightly below ok on some songs on the record. Massive ass UTP EP guitars and a low power voice does not compute.
