stefan86's offtopic random retard thread - post away!

Hoping new Amon Amarth will get me back to metal, at this point i stopped giving a fuck about this genre. Nothing new appealed to me or just plain suck and is boring.

Which sucks, because there isnt enough orchestral good music to feed my needs. So ive got nothing to listen to.

I understand that. I still identify as a metal guy but most of the music I listen to now is more on the mellow/melancholy side. There is still the occasional Death/Black/Doom metal band that catches my attention but I don't seek it like I used to.

i have 0 desire to try any new metal atm :/

Same for me. I barely even listen to metal anymore - mostly much softer stuff now. Which is weird, because if you told me 5 years ago that today I would be listening to stuff like Lady Gaga, then I would never have believed you - I was so trve that it hurts to think about how I only listened to metal back then

Didn't think I was gonna grow out of metal but yet here we are. Still listen to my favorite bands on occasion, but it really is mostly pop nowadays

Well I wouldn't go that far. I won't willingly listen to 95.47% of Pop or Top 40 bred music. It's not a elitist thing, I just hate most of it.

With this tempo, in 2017 only the bass player will still headbang to his fav metal bands.

Its only normal that people grow out of it and switch to other genres. I cannot take seriously majority of metal nowadays. I ocassionally enjoy bands such as Varathron and Rotting Christ but thats about it, but im appreciating some other genres more. Im not even botheringchecking out new albums and bands.
Music taste changes and none of us is a teen anymore. Some new folks are discovering metal, weve already been there.

Music creators just became unoriginal.
Even "progressive" metal bands all sound the same. Now when I think about it it's a shame world didnt have more "Opeth bands".
Even though i listened to it a thousand times it's still kinda fresh everytime I listen to, good compositions, usually no choruses, good production, good lyrics. Some people tried to imitate Opeth but it all sounded flat. If someone finally got music right the vocalist was just the worst growler of all time.

So yeah, unless I discover something new and amazing i wont call myself "full time metalhead" anymore. Time to discover some ambient electronic music, dunno how this genre is even called.

Oh yes I still hate most of top 40 mainstream pop! I agree with you. I just meant to say that I generally don't listen to metal anymore and go for mostly softer and more calm music unless the mood strikes for some proper deff methulz :)

I rate this track 2/10, so it must be fucking popular, am i right? Ear crushing worthless "bass", some moaning slut trying way too hard and... Bah, screw it, it just sucks :3

I learned all hits on parties in Turkey last summer :)

Dj Snake has a lot of potential to make pretty sick tunes but i guess making songs like Lean on bring more money :)
