Maybe you should move somewhere else closer to where you usually hang out. I think transport services are meant to be that way, never in time, expensive and so on. Although here is it's not expensive, but it's shitty (the buses aren't good quality, so are the metros, and people are faggots, especially old people).
Get a bicycle then ! less stress, you won't care for traffic, you won't need a license, you won't pay for anything apart from wheels maintenance every now and then, plus, you develop some awesome muscles which increase your bed-activities performance !
