5 years soon, but I have never bothered trying to learn fretless, I might do a Jaco Pastorious and dig away the frets from my first crappy bass with a butterknife just to get a fretless one :)
:lol: Fretless bass is åsome, you have a thousand more notes and slides-harmonics:lol: But its all a matter of taste, but i think fretless bass in metal is quite useful and br00tal:kickass:

I usually do not like the fretless tone really but it is cool and good for show off like "Look I have no life so I've learned to play this instrument even if its missing frets!" :)

:lol:, But its all depends how you set your bass, my fret bass didnt have the nasal-typical fretless sound, In the Individual thought patterns from Death the bass was fretless and not sound nasal, but is quite different from fretted bass
