wtf that's retarded :lol: we study "all religions" (the big ones; judaism, christianity, islam and some buddhism/hinduism as well as self studying a chosen religion other than those). depending on the teacher it can either be very good or very bad. we had a good teacher so i thought it was fun and interesting :)

ok :p nah, it's interesting to get to know how other people think and why people act the way they do etc. without being religious oneself. it's like politics kinda.

I found religions classes interesting as well. With a decent objective/knowledgeable teacher the classes were quite interesting, if you can study old beliefs from the outside it's actually more interesting than if you believed in one of them. It's a bit like a history class, most groups of people were defined by the religious beliefs their ancestors held way back.

If you can look at it more "scholarly" and just take it for what it is (stories we told to help give reason to what used to be a scary place to us), some of it is actually interesting to read in general. The Bible is clearly fucking retarded, but it wouldn't seem so bad if there were not millions of people taking it literally, making it hard to read without getting defensive/disgusted the whole time.
 
I think I'll go watch Idiocracy again. That movie amuses the hell out of me. It is about a guy that basically pulls a Futurama and gets frozen for like 1000 years, and in the future welfare trailer trash and really stupid people mated and had like 50 kids while the smart people would wait for economy and have 1 kid. Eventually this leads to the entire population being incredibly stupid, with smart people gone extinct because they didn't fuck enough.

The main character ends up being the smartest man on earth even though he isn't very smart. Funny movie
