I've been a hard-core GHS fan for many many years. 10-52 But recently down-tuned my 6-string to A...the 10-52s weren't sounding so good. So, decided to change the guage. Long story short, the shop I went to didn't have any GHS bigger than 10-52, so I ended up with Ernie Ball 12-56 "Not Even Slinky"...WOW...what a difference! These things sound so much better and record with less brittleness. Just thought I'd share.

The best strings i ever played was Labellas "Hard Rockin Steel", but i can find the gauge i use anymore, but this are the must durable strings, now im using ernie ball

I use Thomastik Infelds or Pyramids... religiously if I can help it.

Sure, they're expensive as fuck, but easily well worth it.

I tried the "Not Even Slinky" set, but the unwound 18-gauge 3rd string sounded like arse.
I'm playing with Rotosound at present. Good, but perhaps a little dry sounding.

the 3rd string in the "not even slinky" set is a 24 gauge. i actually like ernie ball strings except on the "beefy slinky" set the 3rd string is kinda gay.
