I'd cry if one of my guitars went like that... Gibson Flying Charcoal

my old guitar teachers studio went that way about a year ago he lost everything, somewhere arround 12 guitars an 4 basses. One of them was an original gibson les paul silverburst it was worth close to 8,000$. he also lost a couple amps and all his recording gear along with about 4 years worth of unrealesed material that he had no backups of. I nearly cried when i saw the place. Oh and studio was above the local guitar store which also got torched it was a sad sad day.

Holy shit dude, after everything else, I wouldn't have been surprised if you said his dog and wife were in there too! Bummer... :waah:

Yeah I'm curious to see what happens here. At least one of the dudes had literally everything in there, no insurance. I hope the building's insurance somehow covers it. The wiring in that place was terrible, it was a death trap and part of the reason we left.

Yeah but some good did come outa the whole fire incident..he started writin some damn fine country.

Well, some good news -- some of the equipment on the bottom floor didn't burn, but it was soaked from the firehose water. My friend called up Peavey and they told him to let his amp and cab dry out for 2 weeks, then turn it on. He did, and it works! Good news!

That sucks so badly!
I hope it'll never happen in my rehearsal studio, goddamn I don't think we got fire alarms that are great.
Over here there are not so much studio rehearsal to got to, so in the end the few are really ghetto ones.
God I really hope it will never happens I have no so many choices: leave stuff at home and rent a studio just for 2 hours a week or staying where I am now.
