studio monitors

Ive got some V8's myself. They were free. I dig em, although honestly, my opinion is no barometer of quality. Cuz Im such teh noob at doing any engineering... haha.

You looking for active or passive?

I have Tannoy Reveal passives, driven by an Alesis RA-100.
Def good enough for the Lo-Tec, home studio application.

I'd consider this as a "very low end" monitoring solution...

I love my Event PS8s. Great speakers for the money. Look into Event speakers in general, some of the best sounding stuff in the mid-price range.

Someday I will have Genelecs... someday......

Tannoy Reveal Active 5's....love 'em. Have had 'em for 4 years or so. I've got a set of Yamaha MSP 5's too which are gathering dust on another continent. They weren't too bad, but I much prefer these puppes.

I'm using Event TR6s, and I love them. Event really does make great speakers for the cost.

I've got the mackies as well and they are very nice but a little hard to get real guiatr mixes on for me. they seem to by a little hyped up in the 250-350 range and then that is missing hard in the real world. I also have an AMAZING set of little speakers from a company calle EGO/SYS. they are tiny and get you sooooooooooooooooooooooooo close to the yamaha ns-10m type of vibe that they rule for mixing you can find them at B&H in new york and also sometimes on ebay. I paid 200usd for the pair and they are powered as well very cool I dig 'em

Love Curran:goggly:

I guess I should have mentioned, Event ASP-8's replaced my KRK's. They're fantastic to work with & my mixes have never sounded better. They also sound even better Soffit-Mounted!
