Suggest band ideas for HC 3

People!

Racism and NS are not the same thing!

Get your shit straight, folks! Also, FUCK promoters who will not sign bands for stupid reasons like this. I know those dudes post here, but I stand by my statement. Music for music's sake!

So I went to check my Battlefields CD. No lyrics. Went to metal archives for Hate Forest. No lyrics.

Does anyone have a link to their lyrics? Are they even in English? I know some of their song titles are.

Also, metal archives lists "Roman S" and "Roman B" as the only two current members of Drudkh. Both are in Hate Forest, the latter is in Astrofaes, both of which are NSBM bands.

The Drudkh t-shirt has some crap about "music for the white intellectual elite".

What more does one need to piece the clues together? Surely the question here is, how are Drudkh not NS?

1) Do you see anything in their music that would suggest that they are?
2) Why the fuck does it matter?

I would say people who follow NS are pretty much racist, I don't know how the two are strictly mutually exclusive. Isn't NS just a glamorous way of saying "nazi"?

I would also be curious about what types of people would start showing up to metal festivals if you have bands like Nokturnal Mortum playing or whoever.

Hang on! The burden of proof is with you if you're saying they're not NS!

All I'm saying is that they won't play at HC if they're pro-nazi or NS in any way. That's why it matters. It's not even a thread jack.

Well, from what I've learned, National Socialism in the strictly defined sense entails a belief that every member of a nation (which should be directly tied to a "pure" ethnic category - a ridiculous notion in my mind) has an overbearing responsibility to the nation above the individual. While this does necessitate subversion of other groups, it does not necessarily translate to outright racism. This is just my two cents. I know they go together more often than not, but people use the words interchangably and I find that erroneous to say the least.

Agreed, at HC1 Typhus sang about shitting in the mouth of Christ and anal raping the Virgin Mary and no one gave a shit. If the lyrics are in Ukranian how the hell are we supposed to know what they are singing about anyway?

People people people....I don't think their translated lyrics etc has anything to do with them performing at festivals. I think it's more to do with the sort of folks who would show up. Note how Wacken does the same thing, they don't want nazi skinheads showing up to the concerts.

I think the burden of proof is on the accuser, actually, and you're accusing them of being NS, so :loco:.

And if Drudkh can't play Heathen Crusade because of the band members' (not the band's) ideology, then that's outright bullshit and makes me lose a lot of respect for what the whole festival is about. I mean, they better never consider bringing in Destroyer 666 then due to KK Warslut's beliefs.

Drudkh's lyrics are based on Forests, old Ukrainji Mythology and Poetry... You can see this in The Swan Road booklet.

Hate Forest's lyrics, at times, was about those, but also about the hate they had for other races, and maintaining the purity of their race.

Astrofaes I've never liked, so I haven't taken the time to investigate.

Demlich, I know what you're saying but if we step away from the dictionary definitions for a second, all I'm saying is that concert promoters have to be realistic about the sorts of people that might show up, and those who don't draw as fine a line in the debate.

The fact is, lots and lots of racist people tend to flock towards NS bands, and those same racist people (e.g. nazis, neo-nazi skinheads, oi skins, white supremacists, klan type, the Timothy McVeigh supporting types) would likely be inclined to show up to heavy metal shows featuring NS bands.

You know what? There was a lot of bitching and moaning about this in the days leading up to Nargaroth's show in Toronto a couple weeks ago. I did not see the problem. The major metal promoter in this city, Inertia Entertainment, refuses to book bands if he even so much as hears rumors as to them being NS or racist or whatever. This is such a fucking load of shit. Thankfully, the show went ahead, and I saw many people of colour there. I don't think they had any problems whatsoever.

I understand this responsibility of the promoters, but to be honest, this is metal. It attracts fucked up outcasts more often than not, and other aspects of metal lyrics and ideology are similarly touchy. Singling out one distinctly anti-PC issue and allowing it to make such an impact is not something I want any part of.
