Brisbane, Australia
long story short, a lady driver pulled out in front of me from a conjoining street whilst i was driving down a 100km/hr zone, basically rammed me off the road and into a power pole, narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic.
i got out of the car fine, then realized that parts of engine of the car had been pushed through into the passenger side, had pinned my bag that was on the passenger seat between the dash and what i presume was the engine, smashed my enclosed iphone and narrowly avoided smashing my macbook.
the cops and paramedics couldn't believe i walked out of the accident practically unscathed (just seat belt burn across chest) and that my airbags didnt deploy.
despite what happened i didnt even react to the accident. it wasn't even enough for my heart to race. funny.
so now i'm having a few cones waiting to see what tomorrow will bring.

Wow!
Good you didn't get hurt.
Fortunately nobody was on the passenger seat!
Too bad for the car and iPhone.

I experienced one some years ago, fortunately I had some bruises and some cuts (small stuff) I was really ok, while my buddy no bruises no broken stuff had the spleen destroyed but he wasn't suffering... actually he didn't feel his spleen exploded, at the hospital discovered this.

Seems like you had a lucky day!

I only were involved in small accidents, but I saw a few pretty bad ones.
The worst one was in our holidays in Norway when I was 7 years old, we were the
first there, a woman crashed with here motorcycle into a car, she lost the helmet
and her face got ripped off...that was pretty sick as far as I remember, but I just
didn't realize what I saw back then.

A friend of mine crashed into a car with his motorcycle once, crashed through the front
window and nothing happened to him, not even a little cut or something like that, he
just opened the cars door and got out and the driver just started crying and he took her
phone and called the police.

Glad you're not hurt.

Gets me to think once again that airbags sometimes simply crushes your face and fucks up your neck, and that's really the seatbelt that is the most important security-wise.
That iPhone impalement is the scary part to me, I think seeing that would have scared me more then the actual crash.

*Doesn't know how much 100kph is*

My only accident was on Christmas day 2009, the roads were iced over badly. I was going probably about 40mph on the highway. There was a guy merging to the side of me and I braked ever so slightly to let him ahead of me. This somehow caused my car to start turning sideways. Next thing I know I'm going backwards on the highway at 40mph... Eventually spun out into the concrete guard rail, hitting it with the passenger side of my car. Wasn't injured at all, though I ended up junking the car. Even while the accident was happening, I was more pissed off than scared...

i didn't see her, she was pinned in the drivers seat as i bounced off of her door. she got taken away in an ambulance complaining of neck and shoulder problems and being in shock. the cops gave me all her details as they kept me busy with paperwork and statements and crap.

i think 100kph is equivalent to 60mph

Lol you seriously don't know how to convert miles into km and vice versa?
It's approx 63 miles.

To the OP, glad you're safe man

"she got taken away in an ambulance complaining"

Yep, definitely sounds like a woman alright.

 I thought the same but in Germany both would've been taken to the hospital - at least in most cases.
At that speed, you basically suffer a "high-speed"-trauma (couldn't find the english word) which can cause several internal injuries..
including the classic head trauma or, worse, nice things like splenic or liver ruptures, which are very lethal.
And you often can't see them in the beginning.
So even unharmed people involved in such a crash would be taken to the trauma room immediately.
Well.. when in Rome, do as the Romans do :loco: (I believe that's a saying in english speaking countries)

kmph/1.6 = mph
mph*1.6 = kmph

but the convertion rates within imperial system TOTALLY sucks if you compare it to the metric system:

1000 millimeters = 1 meter
1000 meters = 1 kilometer
1000 grams = 1 kilogram
1000 kilgrams = 1 tonne

12 inches = 1 foot
3 feet = 1 yard
1760 yards = 1 mile
16 ounces = 1 pound
2240 pounds = 1 ton

And what makes it even more stupid, is when you look who uses it. The ones on green mainly uses metric system, the ones on gray uses imperial system: EVERYBODY except USA, Myanmar and Liberia
