my suggestion for a Swedish band is Tad Morose's "Modus Vivendi." They are powermetal, but more like late 80;s American Powermetal like Metal Church as opposed to newer Euro power-metal like Helloween. Great stuff.

Anyway: Dissection, Morbid, Treblinka, Dismember, Hypnosia, Watain, Lethal, Corrupted, Ondskapt, Nihilist/Entombed, Bewitched, Dead Silent Slumber, Embracing, Naglfar, Vintersorg, Ancient Wisdom.Start with those and you have a good mix.
