Sweds and Guitars

I would say England has had more great guitarists than the whole of Scandinavia.

Allan Holdsworth is from England. He might be the greatest.
So is Guthrie Govan. He too is pretty damn good.
Is Malmsteem from England? I don't really like his live stuff even though you laugh your head off.
Steve Vai is not, he's from Ermerica. Prolly the top live (show)guitarist playing now.
Almost all the great Jazz guitarist are from Ermerica.
Django had a weird name. He came from Marz.

I wasnt nessecarly saying all Schadnavians are great guitar players, i made the statement based on the fact that the majority of the guitar players i love to listen to, happen to be from that area, ex: Mikeal Akerfeldt, :notworthy Johan Reinholdz, Christofer Malmström...
Of course America has people like satch, vai, loomis, johnson, amoung others.

There's an awesome neo-classical player from Greece i think, on www.chopsfromhell.com, forget his name though.

well it´s by far the country producing most great bands: black sabbath, led zep, Pink floyd, Deep purple, Camel, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and PT to name just a few...

Yeah, because the Priest guitarists are just sooo damn good...

As for starting rock music, don't be stupid. Elvis happened to be the first rock artist, and he was straight from America. Rock was, and is, too grounded in blues and jazz for it to have come from Europe, where there was absolutely none in the 40's

Umm, Elvis copied his entire style from the true pioneers of 'Rock music'. Chuck Berry was the first true "Rock Star"...
