I'm listening to Katatonia and I'm struck by something. It's not the first time I've thought about it either. I truely like this band.

If you ask me of my favourite band, they're nowhere near Anathema and Antimatter. But I find them immensely sympathetic and I'm not sure why, I've never met the fellas. Something to do with Jonas voice surely, but the lyrics and music too, it all seems so personal, it sounds as if it is really important to them. So real.

Anyone hear what I'm saying?

I love Katatonia. Is my favourite band. It's not only their music, which I really love, the lyrics, Jonas' voice.. everything. I always find a song of Katatonia for the mood in which I am at that moment. I have like.. 'something' with them.. specially with Anders, don't ask me why.. I really appreciate them. I've never met them personally but through some messages with Anders and Mattias, they seem to be such nice guys.. I really would like to meet them someday..

One of my favorite bands as well, I've never talked to or met them... either... and currently have no opinions on them personally. They seem to be one of the bands I listen to when I'm in certain moods... that I find hard to explain....i geuss...when I'm right in between elation and depression... which has happened recently...

As for rating them Against Anathema (i've never heard the other band) I simply couldn't they are both very good bands...and i could place one before the other...

Katatonia is my favourite band for the fact that I really connect with the music and the lyrics as a whole. I can't find the words to express my love for this band.

The best thing with Katatonia is that I get a special feeling when listening to them. Mostly because of the lyrics and the atmosphere in the songs. There are not many bands like Katatonia and I truly like it.

LFDGD is my favourite LP of all time and the reason why i fell in love with katatonia.their music as a whole (including artwork and stuff) seems to match my mood most of the times.(I'd say I'm not really a happy person you see...or a lucky one.....but no pity needed)

I like Anathema, but I'm not mad about them, I think sometimes they are too "romantic" and their lyrics left me indifferent.
Whereas Katatonia is my favourite band because I like everything of them. I think I've never been so fanatic with another band as I am now with Katatonia, they can express perfectly my feelings. Speaking about the band members as individuals, they seem to be really nice people and then I belong to their generation (I'm as old as Daniel) and that's also why I think we've got so many things in common.

For me Katatonia is an ethylic band because I only listen their albums with alcool . It is an artistic manner of listening great music . Because without alcohol , no melancholy . And without melancholy , no Katatonia . So without alcohol , no Katatonia .

Ironically you saying that without alcohol there is no melancholy has left me feeling quite melancholic. But then, I am drunk.

It's that alive feeling hope thing. Damn sell outs. There should be no hope.

I love Katatonia and their lyrics.....its just the only thing I don't like, is that sometimes I can't relate to the lyrics, but then something comes along and THEN I feel I can relate. Like when VE came out. I couldn't really relate. But then "Complicity" and "Evidence" started to click, then someone fucked me over and "Ghost Of The Sun" finally hit hoome.....so in a way Katatonia is a curse for me lol. I still love em. \m/
