So yea.. I was wondering ... since there will be a New CD Release for Symphony X ... I was wondering ... not to long after if the band will decide to go on tour or something... you know to Promote their new CD .... Kind of like what Styx did with their "Big Bang Theory" CD ... (WOO THEY STARTED THAT TOUR IN MICHIGAN WOO I WAS THERE!!!) But anyways... I was just wondering on what everyone else thought about it... do you think they will pitch up a tour for their CD? That would be awsome... because I have allot of people into Symphony X now... and I know im Pshyed out ... I would DIE to see them in concert live... hehe and I know a bunch of my friends would too ... Unfortunatly I had never heard of them on their last tour so... I really didnt have the opportunity of going..... LONG LIVE SYM X! :hotjump: :worship:

Post your Tour Thoughts Please =D

If Symphony X doesn't play a New York show, I'm gonna die, but the only thing that would be an even bigger kick in the nuts would be if they played an 18+ venue. I so hope they play an all ages venue in the general New York City area.

I'd say they would wait. They rushed back from the gigantour to finish the cd, and they were way behind schedule cos of that. If it was me I would want some time off before I toured. Not sure how much pressure is put on by Inside Out though :s.

Man, I can't wait to see the Gigantour DVD.. I might be in it! The footage was filmed in Montreal, and to think I thought about attending the show in Maine instead...

I hope they go on tour during summer though, they can take a break if they want but I dont wanna be seeing a SX show during fall.

SX did a full US/Canada/European tour circa 2003. Obviously they've gained a fair amount of popularity since then, so I imagine they'll be playing similar venues, or perhaps a step up in capacity > 1,000-1,500 ave. capacity.

I expect an awesome tour, hopefully an extended setlist - 2 hours would be PERFECT to cover thier stuff, 1hr 45mins wouldn't be bad either. They have TOO much great material to limit them to 90 minutes!

Interesting to see who they'll get for support.

Got this from Mike:

To all,

Thank you for the nice birthday wishes. Symphony X fans are the best in all the world.
I will see all of you on tour real soon. Please come say hello to me. I love all of you.

Mike L.

!

There are 3 Mikes. And they've mentioned this over Gigantour, that after that was over they'd do the album then tour.

Yeah I would really like to see a full SX set. THey only got a 5 song slot when I saw them at Gigantour - Pittsburgh.

I'd like to see the full production u know.

ps I couldn't believe it when I looked up SX on wikipedia and they didn't tour until like after Twighlight was released...holy shit! How?

What size venues do you think the band could fill? Here are my guesses
based on past tours, popularity, and what the guys have said...I expect
they will release a kick ass CD, then start a worldwide tour of
mid-size venues later in the year (theaters, etc) as headliners with
a few decent opening bands, depending on where in the world they play.
I think there may be a series of mini-tours with breaks (they have
families) so they may put in some club dates close to home in NJ, PA,
NYC. while they are off tour.

I think they'll try to get to some places
where they haven't played or haven't played for years (yeah, like S.
America, Europe, etc.). They enjoy playing and I'm guessing they will
get a really nice lengthy set of new and old songs together this time,
but not plan on a grueling long tour, just select venues in select areas,
maybe getting in on a couple of the major metal fests.

We all know if they headline, fans will surely travel a long way to see them,
so I think making it profitable would be no problem, especially if there are
a couple of really good opening bands with them. These are just my thoughts.

Was Symphony X touring as a headliner in 2003? I haven't expected that SX is big enough to do a tour as a headliner. Does anyone remember their support act(s) for the European leg?

In the past like, 4-5 years or so, I know Sym X has toured with Blind Guardian and Queensryche as supporting acts. I saw them with Blind Guardian, and Sym X played a set near 1 hour or so. I can't WAIT for their next album/tour either, their last 2 albums are absolute jems, makes me only hope for better this time :p

I definitely saw a SX show in which Seven Witches opened for them. So add that to the list...
