TAB Thread.

The Sinergy one won't be too different. I'm just tabbing it in half time and correcting all the wrong fingerings.

OK, I've updated the 1st post, check it out!!!

:D:D:D Cool eh?

:D I'm kinda chuffed about it since I didn't think I'd be able to do it that easily.

I was going to do it alphabetically but by album with different colours seemed alot more appealing. I've still got to add the SNBN, Lake Bodom live, Towards Dead End etc one in there yet. I'm almost done with The Bitch is Back tab too.

yes, i wonder Mitch (if i may call you that instead of "warheart") how do you have sooo much time to tab out all these songs? and also, how long have you played for? what guitar do you play (i'm guessing an ESP?)? i imagine you as this really good guitar player who studies alexi's style, and that's just straight up awesome in my eyes. oh and also, how old are you? do you go to school? sorry if i'm bombarding you with questions but you do so much for us, i just got curious :D

Yeah you can call me that. :heh:

I have sooo much time because I've finished school and done a 2 year music college thing (waste of time) and now I'm taking a year off and trying to take advantage of doing nothing by doing what I love - MUSIC/GUITAR!! I just turned 19 last Sunday.

I've been playing for 5 years this November and my main guitar is actually an Ibanez Rg770:

I adore Paul Gilbert/Racer X so I'm into the whole 80's purple guitar thing and here's a recording that I did about a month ago where I played a solo that's 16th notes at 190bpm.

My mum's hasselling me to get a job because "it's what normal people do" so when I end up getting one, I might have to cut down on the late night transcription sessions. :erk:

Just for fun, here's a few Bodom recordings that I've done but unfortunately none of my recordings show the best of my ability because I never warm up before I record.

haha, thanks for answering all those questions :)
man, i'm 19 too, but i can't play nearly as well as you can :( and that's obviously because i just started this past summer. and i wish i had all the time in the world like you do. but i have to go to school (i'm taking 4 music classes and 2 other academic classes!! soo much time goes into that!) and on top of that i have a job. but at least my job is overnight, which i love. but man, if i had more time to practice, i would be much better right now. maybe i'll put a recording of what i can play so far on youtube...but good job mitch, on all those recordings. i'm taking a classical guitar class right now and there's a kid in there who's played for 5 years and he loves bodom too, so far he can play every bodom song i name, but i think you're better than him...oh and the lucky bastard actually has an ESP!!!

I'm sure you'll get alot out of what you're doing at school and you'll probably learn alot there which might actually be more benificial than to spend all day practising. If you're taking a classical guitar course, that should improve technique quite a bit because apparantly classical music requires presice technique etc etc more so than rock/metal. There's also teachers there so you can always go to someone if you're not sure of anything, something that I wasn't able to do.

If you say that kid can play every Bodom song but I'm better, he must be playing them sloppy?? Because I still listen to my recordings and think :erk:. Bodom stuff definitely isn't easy though, I haven't heard a single decent cover of a solo so far so that must mean something. *shrugs*

Just for the record, I do know about 80% of CoB's songs hehe.

Rant over I think...

Hey Mitch, on those recordings which instruments do you actually record?
Just the guitar. Bass/keys are directly from GP4 and I program the drums in Beatcraft.

FUCK "normal" people. I've been a "normal" person for the past 4+ years, and I regret every second I wasted on NOT playing music/guitar/etc. I'm 21 now - I've been started playing piano when I was 6 and guitar at 16, but I didn't get truly serious about either until about a year ago. You may remember a few clips I posted around that time? I recorded Follow the Reaper, Bed of Razors, and SNBN. I thought I was pretty hot shit. But now I look back and see that I was full of shit. My playing was really sloppy, even with lots of edits and "studio magic". Now I try my hardest to squeeze in AT LEAST 4 hours of practice every day and make up for all the time I wasted in my teenage years. 4 hours of practice every day X 1 year = HUGE improvement.

ANYWAY, maybe just get a part time job to silence the old lady. But don't ever stop practicing yer arse off. You have excellent control, especially on that PG recording. :kickass:

Is it good? and how much did it cost?

Cost??? What?? :p

It's great yeah. Being a drummer myself, it's no hassle to program in a 20 second clip of whatever song I feel like recording. Getting some drum samples is a must though, the standard sounds are terrible.

Yeah tell me about it. I said to her I don't want to work and she was like "do I need to make an appointment for you to see a doctor?" Wtf bitch. I also said I was thinking about going back to train to be a music teacher at a college and she still thinks I need a job so I can give her money. But nevermind, I think getting a job will actually make me realise how valuable my time really is, I hardly practise at all these days.

I do actually remember your FtR recording, you had a real cool tone that I couldn't get so I admired that. :headbang:

yeah, see getting a job is a must in this society unless you're born with tons of money. money gets you places in life, and that's a fact. money will buy you your guitar and amp that will eventually take you where you wanna go in life. so a job is a good idea, especially if you're 19, it should be time you get more responsible (yeah, i know, i hate responsibility too. but it comes with age).

and by the way, i WISH i started playing years ago like you guys. you guys have that advantage... even if i started the piano when i was young, i think i would be a much happier person today.

and now i'm off to work, oh joy...

Unfortunately it's all true. :erk:

She started making me cut the grass. :Smug:

I wish I had started earlier too!!! All my fav guitarists started much earlier than me.

Paul Gilbert (5, quit at 6, then started at 9)
Yngwie (5)
Jason Becker (5)
Alexi (Violin at 5, guitar at 10)

I got a quick recording question. When I record with a backing track, I can play along, but my recording will always appear before of after the backing track. Like it'll be like a 16th of a note off, and then I have to go in and adjust it, which'll take a little bit. Any ideas?
