TestAmenT tour rumours.

People who know more than me said:
Slayer and Machine Head
Alice In Chains and Suicidal Tendencies
Sepultura and Sacred Reich
Pantera and CoC
Metallica and Kyuss
Anthrax and Cyco Myko
Pantera and Biohazard

I happily stand corrected. :)

Actually, by Rob's own admission the Sydney show was pathetic... nothing but technical problems all the way through!

I didnt notice any problems whatsoever

1. the sound of the guitars was pathetic. it wasn't the pa it was their amps and effects.
2. rob actually put down his guitar to sing a song. WTF?
3. they were boring

everyone i went with to the show was looking forward to machine head, after they started they all said, "Fuck this, lets go to the bar".

then slayer proceeded to kill. after watching a bootleg of MH at dynamo festival around 95 with logan and kontos on drums. the sydney show was fuckin pathetic.

Well obviously the only people who noticed the technical problems (or shitty amps etc. depending who you talk to) are musos more interested in critiquing the sound than enjoying themselves :)

The setlist was awesome, Rob taking off a guitar for a couple of songs is hardly a crime and I enjoyed the hell out of it, the only thing I didnt like was that I got stuck with droopy mcboring playing guitar in front of me when Adam and Robb were going off on the other side of the stage!

It wasn't just "musos" who noticed... many of the people I was there with picked up on the faults as well, and not a single one of them had any musical training.

Rob took the guitar off because of the technical problems, which left us with only one guitarist who could barely play the friggin' songs... and just our luck they play two of their best songs then! (Davidian and Ten Ton Hammer I think)

Take My Scars, Ten Ton Hammer, Davidian, Old, Bulldozer, Nothing Left and the sound was fine where I was standing, I was a happy man! :headbang:

I saw MH in England in 97 and they were fantastic (with Entombed and Misery Loves Co.!!). Their set before Slayer in Melbourne wasn't half as good. They're much better in a smaller venue.....the one I saw them at was about the size of The Palace in Melbourne. Rock City in Nottingham - anyone heard of it? Great venue!

Did Biohazard play with Pantera? I knew they toured with Slayer, but wasn't aware of the Pantera one.

I wish I went to see Kyuss (apparently) blow Metallica off stage in 1993. :(

I saw Slayer on the previous tour though, and they kicked arse. !:headbang:

:headbang: Its sort of strange how a band can have no explosions and fireworks and stuff and yet still be so captivating! :headbang:

dude, this isn't an attack on you.

i was trying to enjoy myself, part of being a muso is critiquing other performances and stealing ideas from them. :) i can't ignore the faults. the sound is part of the performance, the sound was shit. how can you go off when the chunky as fuck guitar sound on the cd that you were expecting to hear, has been replaced by an amp with no reverb or bass at all, no sustain, and the weak digital distortion effect they had.

while it may be they had shitty amps, whose fault is that? it was a poor performance from a band id wanted to see for many many years. i missed em the first time in 95 cause the first id heard of em was in 96.

I didn't know anything about Kyuss in Sydney, but my mate saw them in Melbourne, and said that they were better than Metallica. I remember a lot of people saying that at the time. He'd never heard of them before that.....

Suicidal Tendencies apparently shat all over Alice In Chains in 93 too!

Ah yep, I didn't go to the Trendkill show cos I was saving to go overseas, and had seen them twice in 94 anyway....

Anthrax toured Australia? When was this?

as for Slayer/Machine Head... slayer were great.. I liked a few of the old Machine Head songs.. however Rob Flynn was talking to much about "how great we all are" and it got annoying after a while
