Very similar to "Heavy Metal" in that it was a compilation of shorts. 9 shorts. One of them was shown as a trailer w/ "Dreamcatcher" if you saw it at the theatre. Two of the shorts deal w/ the rise of the machines and the wars - those were very cool. I purchased the $3.99 PPV and recorded it to VHS hifi as opposed to $15.00 - $20.00 for the DVD. If you are into the Matrix, I suggest it. If you are into modern animation (anime, Spawn, Final Fantasy) I suggest it. If you are into both, you'll love it.

I got the DVD. I haven't watched it all yet, but the ones I did see were good. "Final Flight of the Osiris," the one that played with "Dreamcatcher," is my favorite so far, but I think "Detective Story" might be better. I just haven't watched that one yet. The one behind-the-scenes piece I watched , for "Osiris," wasn't real informative though. That was kind of disappointing.

I saw the DVD but didn't buy it because i didn't know what it was. I thought it was just some kiddie version of the matrix or something. Plus it was at Wal-mart and they never have any good anime/modern animation so I didn't pay any attention to it. Now that I know what it is I'm going to pick it up.

second rennaissance pt I and II was deffinately the best. I give it a 10 out of 10. IT was actually pretty gripping. Gret story AND great animation. The problem with anime is goofyness and shitty stories. There was only one on that DVD I actually didn't care for. There were four (including rennaissance) that had both solid animation and story. The rest were just kind of a mindfuck like the matrix. I'll have to watch them a couple more times to get them. second rennaissance was fucking scary too!
