I figured a thread about Audio would be cool to have. Doesn't look like this section is too active.

What kind of stuff do you use to record your music? What software and equipment do you have to do anything, like demo shit or full tracking?


My setup is pretty extensive for a 21 year old living in his mom's basement. :lol:


Computer:
- 2010 27" Quad-Core iMac: 8 gb RAM, 1 TB internal hard drive, Intel i7 Processor

A/D:
- Mackie Onyx 1640 Original + Firewire Card
- Digidesign MBox 2

Software
- DAW's: ProTools 9 (recording/editing), Logic Pro 9(recording/editing/MIDI), BIAS Peak LE (mastering)
- Plugins: ProTools and Logic stock plugins, Waves Complete Bundle Native (Mercury, SSL, GTR3, API, WavesTune, all Signature Series [Kramer, Maseratti, Puig and Lord-Alge] and many many more...)

Microphones
- Dynamic: Shure SM57 (x8), Shure Beta 52, AKG D112, Sennheiser e906, MXL R77 (ribbon)
- Condenser: Samson CO2 (pencil), R0DE NT1 Original, AKG Preception 400

Mixing
- Mackie Onyx 1640 Original (also interface), Mackie VLZ-802 summing mixer (for Mbox and Onyx)

Outboard Gear

Man, I do have a lot of stuff. I'm looking to build up my setup little by little into a somewhat semi-professional workspace. Once I get some cash, I want to put it towards some serious upgrades and stuff to give me more capabilities. (Although the key words being "Once I get some cash" :lol:)

I don't currently have any pro level gear nor do I plan to get any soon since I won't have the time to be using it, but I still have the following:

Computer:
- Dual-core, 4Gb DDR3, 500Gb hard disk (7200rpm)
- Double-screens. 23"

Software:
- Windows 7 64bit
- DAW: Reaper v3.65
- Plugins: Waves Complete Bundle, EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold Pro XP, EWQL Stormdrum, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, Spectrasonics Trilogy, Superior Drummer 2, Guitar Rig 4, SIR2 reverb.

Monitoring:
- No studio monitors, but some good sounding speakers with a subwoofer. Enough for demo shit.

Gear:
- an m-audio midi controller, a DI box and a guitar. :lol:
