the best produced song ever...what do you think?

Gonna add DT's work of perfection on Misery Signals first album 'Of Malice & Magnum Heart.
In particular the final song 'Difference of Vengeance & Wrongs'. So fucking perfect, He approached everything on that album so differently to anything that has ever been done in Heavy music IMO.
What a fucking amazing album.
thats my 0.02

I personally would have to say alot of the stuff that J.R. Rotem producers usually comes out amazing
I still think "Thriller" has one of the best productions of all times and that was produced by Quincy Jones
I also love most of the stuff that Tiesto does (if he even counts as a producer that is)

I think in terms of production fitting the songs

Converge - No Heroes

I've never heard an album that's production fits the actual songs as well as that album does.

I was amazed when I was a little kid and heard Boston in my mother's car.

I was even more amazed a few weeks ago when I learned that dude from Boston created his own 4 track recorder or something and did the mixing and stuff all by himself.

This mix sounds as good as most good modern productions. Back in '76.

+1 for Wolf and Fear. Nothing even remotely pleasant there, Black metal shouldn't be. Here's another piece of awesome :headbang:

Flame on

*just an opinion

I personally think howard benson/CLA's work on the new Maine album is the finest recording i've ever heard. Everything about that album just sounds so dang good!

I don't think there's a best, or favorite for me. But I just want to say that the sonics of an album are not entirely created from the mix process! In fact in most genres the tracking engineer has a huge influence on the sound, sometimes more than the mix engineer. So if you're referring to the "sonics" of an album, you're talking about engineering, mixing, and mastering at the very least.

Sorry if this has been brought up already. I didn't read the entire thread, just thought it was worth saying.

Some that I like, that really help define the song

Tool- The Grudge
Radiohead- Subterranean Homesick Alien or Morning Bell
Eagles- Take It Easy (maybe i just love the song)
Chris Cornell- Preaching The End Of The World

Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile (La Mer, Into the Void, Complication) Alan Moulder
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step (Weak and Powerless, The Noose, Gravity) Andy Wallace
Deftones - White Pony (Digital Bath, Knife Party, Passenger, Change) Terry Date
Marilyn Manson - Holywood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death, Lamb of God, Coma Black) Dave Sardy

Here's some more that I do find particularily incredible in terms of overall sound, dynamics and sound quality.

Porcupine Tree - .3

The Flower Kings - Love Is The Only Answer

Symphony X - The Odyssey

Supertramp - If Everyone Was Listening

Santana - Victory Is Won

Radiohead - Wierd Fishes

Roger Waters - Amused To Death

King Crimson - Elektrik

Infected Mushroom - Heavy Weight

Crimfall - Aubade

Collective Soul - Shine
