The Bland Commercialisation?

Yes I am. Get over it. And although I like TGC, it's not my favorite track on the album. But when I heard the album for the first time, it really felt like TGC was the center of it, the climax of the album. Oh come on, it's quite fucking obvious that is what it is. It's the GRAND CONJURATION... what comes after it? Isolation Years is like the epilogue of Ghost Reveries.

I think it's funny how nobody talks about Baying of the Hounds and Isolation Years. Both achievements of Mike's contradicting songwriting style.

People just expect opeth to be complex and its a pretty straightforward song which non-opeth fans can get into easily.I still prefer it over the softer songs (which alot of people i know like opeth for).

TGC is the best song on Ghost Reveries, it is refreshing and really fascinating. Perhaps it is monotonous, but it has this soul and essence I miss in Opeth since a long time. The rest of Ghost Reveries ist unfortunately boring, like nearly everything after Still Life.

The Baying Of The Hounds is the best song on GR, because it has the best soft to heavy transition and following metal orgasm they've ever made imo.

I am a big fan of the subtle drumwork during the verses. And the lyrics. And pretty much all of the song.

I dunno. I think I would be unhappy if the whole album was like that, but as one song it's a nice change and as song concept it's well-realized. It also makes a good climax to the album, especially with how it broadsides you after Hours of Wealth.
