The Children Of Bodom Gear Thread

Well after reading this and seeing bodom last night its official that Alexi doesn't endorse seymour duncan anymore.None of Allu's guitars had s&d they all had emg's and the all the soundguys were wearing emg shirts.

His signature EMG probably sound like a modded Blackout anyway. And there's not much change in his sound so there's probably no reason to try it.

About these YouTube retards... What I hate most are questions like: Where can I find the tab? Could you send me the tab? Tab? Tab plz? TAAAAAAABBBBBBBB!!!!!!!!
In most of my discriptions I've said that I have my tab from this board, also on my main page.

nah, pickup questions are not that often. questions about what type of guitar I have are more often. it's cool, cause 50% of all think I have the ESP US version because of my gainboost :)

anyway, first it was EMG HZ-H4, then HZ-H4 with EMG PA-2, then J-50 BC with EMG-PA 2, then J-50 BC with MM04 and now it is a blackout with MM04 - to answer your question :)

oh, but in all of my vids I had my HZ-H4 in my guitar but I haven't upload new vids since months ago as you can see...

woah cool, damn so you've got the whole deal huh haha, how does the J-50BC sound, and lastly do you thin the AHB-2 is better then the AHB-1 is better or is the blackout as a whole better then the other pickups

the J-50 BC sounds cool but I like the sound of the HZ and the blackout mor cause both got more power and heaviness. but I don't know how the ahb-2 sounds... I think that the blackout got the best sound cause it's the strongest one I ever had and it's really clean and the mids sounds really great. but all in all it's not a huge difference between all pickups. you can't really hear a big difference between the HZ with a gainboost and the blackout without boost. most depends on the amp you have. when you have a guitar like mine or most of you other guys and you play over a small amp you can't hear a difference between a high end guitar and a cheaper one with the same pickup

well i have a RV and wanna get a blackout ,and im about to get my cab with celestions so hopefull more quality comes out haha
thanks arcane for the info much appreciated

Hey Mitch, I just got my GP-1000 in the mail from ebay!

I tried messing around with it and I tried putting the settings on the ones you list alexi has.

It's really weird though, it's like you say he has the channel 2 volume at 11 o clock. Whenever I put mine higher than 9 o clock (at all) it's like fucked up. Like anything quieter like hitting a note softly or hitting a palm mute is loud, and then whenever anything like a normal note or a chord is hit its really quiet.... also there's a bunch of noise. I tried messing around with teh settings on my amp, and the weirdest fuckin shit happened... it's like when i move my treble past 12 o clock on my amp it makes this weird fuckin noise....

Also whenever I hit a really high note like the 24th fret on the high E string, it like "buzzes" (dunno how else to describe it).......

What the heck am I doing wrong?

ESP (Ltd) alexi-600 into the GP-1000 into a line 6 spider III (2x10)

Yeah shadow it is.

And yeah haihn I put it all the way to clean with 0 drive

Lol shadow, were you bidding on it too?

Does your spider has a FX-loop? (I cant really find it in the specs list.) If yes, then you should plug your GP1000 in the return jack. If you dont have a FX-loop ... you're screwed and its not going to work.

+1. Put it in the effects loop (send/return jacks on the back of your amp if you have them). If not you can run it in front of the amp, just like if the GP1000 was a pedal. But it won't sound really good that way.

hey how do i make a SP-1000 work on my amp is just a laney practice amp, shit in my words but i wana test it cause its in customs here already, until i get my cab and so on.so how do i rig it up to hear whether it works
