The concerts thread

Gonna see Down and Warbeast tonight.

So good to be back in LA. There's always at least one show I want to see every week.

Saw Asesino last Saturday night. Got to shake hands with Dino Cazares! He was really cool and interacted with the crowd before and after the show. Asesino isn't the greatest band in the world, but it was a fun show. I don't speak Spanish well, but I knew enough that they were shit talking to the gringos in the audience.

Going to a doom festival this summer, too many bands to list but personal highlights would be Conan, Danava, Pagan Altar, Procession and Saturnus.

Did they find a new guitarist yet?

DesertFest? I'm going to it too, hence why I'm seeing Pagan Altar and Pentagram again. I can't wait! :D

Not as far as I know. They better hurry up though!

Nope, "Heavy Days In Doomtown" in Denmark. Desertfest looks pretty sweet though.

And yeah, they better. It's a shame Victor left.

(EDIT: Btw, your name, that a BÖC reference? Great song.)

Fuck you assholes for seeing Pagan Altar already and AGAIN. I'll be seeing them for the first time this year at MDF and I'm excited. Probably my favorite band of all time.

Seeing Pallbearer and Enslaved this Sunday. Don't really care about Enslaved, but Pallbearer are something to behold.

Enslaved w/Pallbearer next week

Neurosis and Russian Circles the week after... oh yeah and Coheed and Cambria is playing with the latter. Still debating whether I'll stick around for the overpriced beer and white women.

Samothrace the week after that.

Fuckin February man :kickass:

Yeah, leave and find them black whores at da club.

Meshuggah Feb.15
Enslaved Feb.22
Nile March.10

(and not a concert but who gives a fuck cus its awesome. WRESTLE-GODDAMN-MANIA 29!)

Last gig I saw was Vomitor, Negative Plane over a month ago. Negative Plane sounded awesome live with 2 guitars. The songs they played from Stained Glass Revelations sounded much better live. That album has weird production. Vomitor had great energy. i don't go to many gigs but this is what i'm planning on seeing in 2013

Incantation, Evoken, Derketa in March
Martyrdoom Fest (Ares Kingdom, Morpheus Descends + a bunch of other decent bands) in June

I don't know if I'll be able to get the time off to attend all days of MDF. If I have to work I'll get there around 6-7pm on Saturday. I picked up a 4-day pass and booked a room. It's nice that the organizers put a large portion of the bands with AIDS under quarantine.

Meshuggah at the Roseland Ballroom was awesome as expected. Too many songs off Koloss though so it was a little more monotonous than Meshuggah usually is...

Just got back from Enslaved. FUCKING INCREDIBLE SHOW. You can really tell that they love what they do and it makes the show so much better. All smiles, all headbangs.

The last concert I attended was Soulfly at a bar in downtown Vegas near the Fremont Street Experience. Low turnout for a band like Soulfly. I know they pissed off a lot of fans with their last performance here back in early August. The show was good, but I would have liked more Soulfly songs. Too many Sepultura and Nailbomb songs in my opinion. I considered buying a shirt, but a sign in their merch area turned me off from that. They had a sign advertising a meeting with the band after the show for $100!:yow: They might as well change their name to Greedfly.

One more thing about Max Cavalera...I understand trying to help family, but dragging out his sons' bands and forcing them upon fans as the supporting acts is awful. The unsigned local bands sound better than Lody Kong and Incite!

Next concert is Meshuggah next weekend.
