I have "Cold Steel for an Iron Age", and it's pretty thrashy. Maybe their previous stuff isn't so much.

That is their CD I've listened to least. Unchain the Wolves is not thrashy in any way, shape or form, and the only song that is thrashy off Phoenix Rising is the last song, mostly because of the thrashy introduction.

Well I have not heard any of their other material but it sounds like it is more black metal. "Cold Steel..." really doesn't have much black in it. The vocals aren't even that black, except for maybe to an old-school extent.
