so it's that time again. Tropical Storm Nicholas gonna piss on Houston on Tuesday. Good! I welcome the deluge. Bring it.

do you europas ever have natural disasters?
 
Too far south for tropical cyclones to retain hurricane strength here, except rare cases in history where they probably hit category 3. Most notoriously Cyclone Giselle in 1968, which merged over Wellington with a 2nd storm coming from the southwest. A large passenger ferry arrived at the harbour entrance to find waves growing to 20ft in there, tried to do a U-turn but got blown into the harbour and fucked up.

Tornadoes are rare, but this one went through my workplace in Auckland in 2011. Damaged the other 2 buildings but not my one. A woman braver than me stepped outside and took photos of it coming towards us:
