I've never heard Non-Exist...........so I can't reply..........King's X ....is another one of my I hate bands...........you either luv'em or hate'em........you kill me........o_O...........Welcome DC.................:Spin:
 
I don't want to provoke anyoone... nor do I want a big assed flood to begin but I don't like the Haunted... I gave them a try with made me do it and I thought it always sounded the same... always seems to be ultra-low tuned palm-muted strings with the same progression around the 7th fret :)

Anyways... if that many testament fans like the haunted... I guess I should give them another try... Oh... and I don't like the "hardcore" style vocals... Nor do I like them in Carnal Forge...

The Haunted Made Me Do It is a great album.. and One Kill Wonder kicks ass too.

They came to Pittsburgh once with Witchery (I believe it was Witchery).. that show was fun.

Saw The Haunted during their tour with Dimmu and Lamb of God and they kicked my ass, great set. I own THMMDI and OKW, I don't care for the vocalist on their s/t album.

I think you could be burnt, on the whole Melodic Death Metal thing, take a vacation from that genre, if they don't do it for you, you either need counseling, or a break from the Metal World! ..............try a little alcohol before a concert, it will put you in a better mood(maybe)...............:Spin:...just a thought DC................o_O

Dirt...your act is pretty rediculous sometimes...I understand that you think you're pretty funny..and I can appreciate that, but sometimes you remind me of one of those flies that just won't go away no matter how many times you swat at it. Why don't you stick to subjects you know about (I realize that will be a little limiting) but at least you won't appear to be a jackass quite as often..
 
I met this metalhead from Reno, who I've gotten to know prettly well over the years, at a Roseville Testament show, must have been '99. It was in support of The Gathering, DL on drums, JM on guitar. A few months back at the Avalon Ballroom show, he told me that The Haunted opened up for Testament at that Sac show. Can anyone confirm a Haunted/Testament tour? I don't remember any of the opening bands that night, but I don't think it was the Haunted, I'm sure I would have remembered it, I didn't get that wasted...
 
The Haunted is OK..I listen to them occasionally..I saw them with Dimmu a few years ago..and they must not have made much of an impression because I can't remember them at all, and I was completely sober! I Remember Lamb of God and Dimmu...just not the Haunted?? Haven't had that happen before! I guess my trip here is the fact that I heard In Flames first, and everything else in this genre is really samey..so I don't have much desire to get completely into the other bands. I'll get out THMMDI and give it another try..I know they are good..I just started listening to them when I was starting to get tired of the whole melodic death metal thing, so I didn't give them a fair shot.


And Dirt...I just don't like it when people talk out of their asses:Smug:

Wow....hey Dirt.....you really need to work on your comedy act......because it is truely not funny in any way. It needs help..if you desire to be funny, get some pointers and come back when you are. I think you may be right DE....the melodic death metal thing is waaaaaay burnt out. I went through that phase back in 96 when ATG were at the top of that game. And honestly everyone sounds pale in comparison to ATG in my opinion. All the bands today all sound the same......none of em are pushing the envelope at all. Melodic death by the books......its getting mundane. By the way Misery Index' EP called Overthrow......kills!!! For a band that is trying new things and is exciting to listen to....try Alchemist or Isis. Anyway....Dirt.....give it a rest. I dont like a band you like......who gives a shit??

It's funny. I had no idea that my not liking The Haunted would be so controversial. It's funny how if someone disagrees with liking a certain band how metalheads don't respect the differing opinion. Instead they call a person dumb or not metal. For being the most intelligent form of music on earth, i'm suprised at the intolerance shown on these kinds of forums. It's sad really.....I never said "the Haunted sucks ass and if you like em you're gay.". I mean come on........
