For all those wondering about the headliner that I couldn't nail down, this year here is the answer. I'm afraid that I will not discuss any specifics, but I will say that the management & everyone involved in the attempt were total pros and very curtious.

Glenn H.

Oh man, that would have been cool to have seen him play.
I've never seen him play live, so that would have been a great...

Damn, Glenn maybe you shouldn't tell us these things (wicked laugh).

I've seen Dio live about 6 times but never, ever in a venue as small as Earthlink. Would've been great to see, but you gave it your best shot Glenn. Thanks for having such great taste in music and a willingness/business to share it with us!!!

Dio is awesome live. My Wife would have loved to see him sing "Heaven and hell".

Honestly I'm kind of glad it fell thru. Dio's music the last decade or more is about as exciting as watching paint dry. I've never seen Dio live, so that might have been kind of cool, but all in all I'm more happy with the way things eventually worked out with the lineup.

 I saw Dio a few years ago with Deep Purple and the Scorps. He was by far the best singer up there that night!! My wife got back stage and got a cool pic with Dio. What a gentleman!!

What this tells me if Glenn went down to the wire with Dio, why not an Iced Earth or someone that big?? Shit, Glenn - you da man!!!! :worship:

I realize Glenn said he would not comment further about this, but it seems to me that he may have ben trying for Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules era Black Sabbath. That sounds like something Glenn would try to pull off as opposed to Dio who tours the states almost annually.

I could be way off on this but that sounds a hell of a lot more interesting than Dio by himself. Besides you'd think Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler might be more interested in doing this than the same ten songs or so on Ozzfest every year.

I don't know, just an idea.

I like that thinking, especially considering he sent us to an old video of that era instead of just a plain old Dio video....unless Glenn just liked that song...?

That definitely would've kicked serious a$$ if that's what he was trying to pull off...
