I do believe it would have been DIO-era SABBATH '80-'82. My God, that would've been INCREDIBLE!!! I'm still way more than satisfied with the present lineup now as-is, though!

I'll keep you in my prayers and hope you can find redemption (now, nobody make a Laser's Edge joke....this is serious here).

Mosquito said:As a side note...Dio rarely tours the USA...and only hits northern big cities really...I have never seen him live (nor have I seen my favourite band...Iron Maiden)...so...
ashaman7122 said:But...I see all the posts that talk about never seeing Dio live...and I have to wonder...are these the same assholes that bitch about having to see Sym X or Evergrey or Iced Earth or Nevermore or Helloween way too much...knowing full damn well that a lot of these so-called North American tours don't always make it "everywhere" in North America?...the same people that bitch about certain bands playing PPUSA because they "normally" tour North America? Well...guess what folks?...they don't come to everyone's neighborhood everytime...!
What about Nevermore?...hell...for that matter, what about Dream Theater?

I would much prefer to attend a Mercenary/Everygrey/Nevermore bill over a bill consisting of Dio and Maiden, or Anthrax and Priest ... etc. I'm way more interested in seeing current bands than oldies reunions. That's just me.

That's not a straight comparrison in a lot of ways. I don't really consider Conception to be nostalgic since their music was from the early to late 90's. They also had never played in the US before, and I think they are one of those bands that was very influential to a decent chunk of the fans that prog power was originally intended for. Dio should be headlining some fest of old schoolers like Accept, Metal Church, and Anthrax ..... not Prog Power. That's just my take though ... others probably see it differently and that's cool.Wheezer said:Oh come on, man! You were as into Conception last year as anyone on the floor. They weren't a headliner though so it's not really a straight comparison. I don't think that one nostalgia band out of ten overall is too bad a ratio. Any more than that would be too much for me too.
It would have been cool to see Dio but I'm more than happy with both headliners.
