The headliner that got away.....

Just wondering, Would Dio cost more money than Bruce dickinson? Cause I think Dickinson by himself would have the same turnout as Dio.

PLEASEEEEEE tell me those frigging Osbournes:yuk: don't come to ProgPower.

it seems to me that he may have ben trying for Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules era Black Sabbath. That sounds like something Glenn would try to pull off as opposed to Dio who tours the states almost annually.

If this was the case, which also is what I was thinking, that would've been incredibly cool. Dehumanizer was one of the first metal cds I ever bought, and I've always loved Dio's voice, whether in Sabbath or solo.

My God, I can't believe how many people here have never seen Dio before.

Kind of makes you wonder...:err:

Anyways, as much as I love him, I'm glad he's not playing as well. He tours enough on his on to see him regularly (unlike some of the challenged who think Evergrey tours regularly:erk: ).

He still has a great voice though.

Hey man..theres always next year Glenn....if Dio came..that would secure PP's spot as America's premiere fest..heh...jesus...dio...man...no comment

As a side note...Dio rarely tours the USA...and only hits northern big cities really...I have never seen him live (nor have I seen my favourite band...Iron Maiden)...so...

You're right, he rarely tours the USA...enough anyways. He always tours when he has a new album out and I've never seen any problems with a lack of tour dates. The only thing I could think of is maybe he doesn't tour the south too extensively.

If it was just the normal Dio line up then I'm ok with it falling through. He does tour the US regularly, and does hit the south, so there is much more of a chance to see him, as opposed to Evergrey and a headlining Nevermore. If it was a special Dio show/line up, then I am very upset. Either way Dio kicks much ass and would've ruled the PP stage.

Dio has the best voice in Metal. Period.
Yes! One of the most naturally gifted singers around, and definitely the best in Metal and Hard Rock.

I've seen him several times, and he and his band always put on a hell of a show. Never seen him with Sabbath though - THAT would be WAY COOL. I always liked the Dio-era the best...
