The heaviest band/album you've ever heard

I'm also loving the Crowbar in an almost homo-erotic fashion.

I need odd fellows rest and sonic excess on cd. heavy as fuck

both Acid Bath cds are some of the heaviest albums i've heard.

^^^ I think that's their least heaviest, mainly due to the more upbeat pace of most of the songs. In the Rectory... is slower and heavier, and their new one I've heard is quite heavy, though I have yet to hear it.

When I think of heavy I think of the guitar riffs.

ozzy-perry mason
moonspell-in and above men
amon amarth-anything off fate of the norns
megadeth-symphony of destruction
baroness-the birthing
borknagar-gods of my world
corrosion of conformity-in the arms of god
metallica-the thing that should not be

....ah thats all i can think of

Origin - Echos of Decimation

Structured brutalness, the old discs are heavy but this has the heaviest tracks...

Reciprocal
The Burner
Staring From the Abyss

I think its the drums and that god damn sweep picking. :kickass:

Also the song Portal, damn. Too heavy

It all depends on what your definition of heavy is. For me, for something to be heavy, it has to sound crushing, dark, and sinister. If by heavy you mean an extremely low end tone that makes the speakers buzz, then bluesy stuff can be heavy. That being said, I still don't think that Sabbath (or stuff heavily influenced by them) is heavy at all, though I obviously like and listen to Ozzy era Sabbath.

If you don't find Into The Void or Symptom Of The Universe heavy there's something wrong.
