The heaviest...

Blitzkrieg

Master Exploder
....album ever?

This is a question I have thought about quite alot over the last few months.
After asking around some peoples opinions I've come up with:

Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer
Strapping Young Lad - City
Pantera - Far Beyond Driven
Bruce Dickinson - Chemical Wedding
Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings

...just to name a few.

What do YOU think is the heaviest album ever made?

Well that really depends on your definition of 'Heavy' i mean you could say something from some Hella DOOMY style band...which is heavy cause it's all phat and low end...like Cathederal...or Pod people

os something unrelenting like DamageD or fast Black metal like Zyklon

or lowend and fast like old school death metal CC anyone...maybe some Mortition ?

HMMM

Yeah it all depends on your definition of heavy. Most of my mates would say heavy is a thick full low detuned bassy sound like Skinlab or Fear Factory....

Personally I reckon ManOwaR are really heavy but most people reckon they aren't heavy at all... but I tend to think of heaviness as in power, and Manowar's sound is pure steel...

Also, I think of heaviness as in how brutal it sounds, in which case I would say death/grind bands like Disgorge, Cannibal Corpse, etc..

Slayer - DIabolus In Musica is also really heavy I think, and Far Beyond Driven by Pantera too.

it has to be...

Yeah, what he said!!

There's faster, lower tuned, chunkier, more grusome albums out there but that still stands up today as one of the heaviest albums of all time, I think... Just think what it was like back in 1986! *shudder!*

Gee, i really must get around to getting a copy of Reign in Blood...I can't beleive i still don't own this album yet!!!
I think Metallica's Kill Em All is probably what i would consider as one of my favourite for heaviest album;)

Oh my god raphe, go get it!!!!!!!!!!
ANGEL OF DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEATHHHHHHHH!! :D

Even though Seasons in the Abyss is slayers best album, Reign in blood rules!

BOLT-THROWER - Warmaster
Is easily one of the heaviest and best albulms eva!!!!!!!

followed by :
CARCASS - Swansong
CANDLEMASS - Nightfall
PANTERA - Vulger display...
IRON MAIDEN - Powerslave (is still a pretty heavy albulm when you compare it with other stuff!!!!!)
ONSLAUGHT - In search of sanity (has great metal guitar)
IRON MAIDEN - Brave New World (I still get surprised at how heavy the lads have made it......especially Fallen Angel)
.......
There's heaps more but I can't think of them right now:D

WELL HEAVY ALBUMS I HAVE TO SAY

BOLT THROWER -THE FOURTH CRUSADE
CATHEDRAL - FOREST OF EQ/
CANDLEMASS -NIGHTFALL ........

ARMOURED ANGEL-STIGMARTA
OBITUARY-BACK FROM THE DEAD
SIX FEET UNDER-HAUNTED

IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE HEAVINESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR
E.G REIGN IN BLOOD WAS PROBLY THE HEAVEST THING AT THE TIME FOR THAT STYLE I FIND SLAYER TO BE MORE BRUTAL THEN HEAVY AS IN SOUND...

LOOKING FORWARD TO NEW SLAYER ON JULY 14 TH LETS HOPE THEY HAVE STAYED TRUE TO THERE METAL THERE IS LOTS OF TALK ABOUT CHANGE.........WAITING DESPERATLEY
