The Leper Affinity is my favorite Opeth song.

its dogshit, worst song off of BWP. Voted for it in every round of the BWP song survivor. How you people can think its better than funeral portrait and dirge is just beyond comprehension.

how can you say that about ANY opeth song??

I think it might be the past track on Blackwater Park besides the title track on BWP.

It's simply amazing played live. I'm sure people who've seen Opeth recently saw them open up with this song, and it's just amazing..

The Leper Affinity is my current favorite as well.

After them opening with it at the show on the 5/21, I still have not de-awed myself. When you see Mendez going at his bass throughout the whole thing, you gain a new respect all that is Opeth. ;) I have listened to it multiple dozens of times since then...

Karma is right up there with it, though. I love the more-hard-than-mellow type songs. Simply amazing work.

Hey my favourite song still remains Bleak and that awesome opening riff to the song BWP. But The Leper Affinity reveals itself a little bit more slowly and as with most Opeth it contains those hidden gems that resonate with you at a particular moment. Clean vocals are buried within this song almost as an afterthought. They are not obvious on rememrance unlike most Opeth tracks. Perhaps this os the poer of this track. Also the Sepultura loke rhythm guitar whicj crops up ala Beneath The Remains/Arise. That Exodus type bluntness with those little interruptions. Great stuff.
