first: harmonically wise

second: timing wise

third: speed/intricacy wise

for me:

1. Beethovens 9th

2. Spiral architect sounds pretty hard

3. probably paganini or malmsteeen

Harmonically, I'd say that Liszt and Wagner got much more complicated than Beethoven and I'd say that composers after Liszt and Wagner got even more complicated.

Timing wise, have you ever seen the score to something like Stravinsky's The Rite Of Spring. There are some pretty intricate rhythms between the different instruments at times or even in general with the time changes.

In terms of speed, Paganini is a good guess in my opinion.

nobody has ever heard of Gorguts? or atheist? well shit!!! I agree with suffocation though. they fucking RULE!

Try play Mozart's Turkish Rondo. Took me a couple months to learn it. Surprising no one has mentioned Chopin. That guy's insane.
