The new CD progress

Hello my friend Sonm! I have just returned from five weeks of fieldwork for my university course :Lee: It has been a while so I thought, my fine sir, I would just post and see how you guys were :Sonm:

I was listening to Tears Of Mortal Solitude on the toip of a mountain while I was away, next to a large waterfall. It was most fitting :cool:

:( I was not allowed to upload new stuff... sorry guys, you have to wait until I send the master or demo to Lee... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

1) Intro - ready...
2) Autumn Dancers - we do vocals (clean are damn difficult to record)
3) The Seveth Symphony of Satan
I. The Enlightment/Church by Night - goes
II. The Flight of a demon - last touches (demons are coming)
III. The Grief of the Devil - ready...
4) Bless U to Die - ready...
5) The Crown of Winter - tough but goes
6) ????? - on its way
7) Outro

.....
It's damn hot over here...
Omin is leaving for his nightwork.

Demo my friend. But the whole studio time is just 10 or 12 days so everything will be recorded right after we've our demo done. I must admit - this time there are some nearly unplayable parts so we'll have to use a PC when play live. Bringing the whole orchestra every time when there is a show will be kind of inconvenient I think...
Forest Stream bastards are making a CD wich contains a lot of classical music...
My last hope is finding a decent choir... Sometimes I think it will be OVERCOMPLEX stuff, but our personal feature is alive - 2 minutes flow like 1 and nearly all songs contan no repeated parts... Just music, about one hour of a sad and majestic music...
Gosh I am dying to hear it all myself...
Anyway our plans to play The Autumn Dancers (AD) and The Seventh Symphony (SSS) in September, when supporting Katatonia in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
AD = 9.40 min
SSS = 10.24 min

If the choir is not found we`ll try to perform choir parts ourselves heheh :) So, at this moment we have just 5 songs to be recorded and one of them is nameless yet. Anyway, we like all we have now. And i think we`ll like it more when the demo is finished :)

Sonm, the very fact that you do have a choir or orchestra in your music is what made me a fan from the start. It is a blend of beautiful symphionic dark melodies, very much reminiscient of something done by ... (now i forgot the name of the composer) but either way, its reminiscient of very beauitful music, that rather than something you oculd bob your head to, or really listen to while driving down on the freeway, you feel it. Rarely is there any kind of a band that can make me be moved as much as Forest Stream, which I have been listening to a lot more now than ever before. I don't get depressed or sorrowful when I listen to the music, instead, I am reminded constantly of visiting my grandma in Narilsk, when I was 5 or 6. These kind of memories, pleasant though at times very encumbersome is what turns your music from just a song to an actual piece of art. I am positive that most people, if not all people, here will tend to agree that you guys have stepped way beyond the lines of heavy metal, then of music, and now should be considered true artists.
I just hope, that in the future more and more people will have the chance to listen to Forest Stream. So far anyone I introduce the CD to, never returns it, it is no wonder that I had to buy the CD about 4 times now.
So encumbersome, and maybe inefficient, but bring those orchestras to your shows, find those choir boys in the local Church, and bring to them the cold touch of Forest Stream!

Thank you, Ayzahar... What you say is very appreciated...

I was wondering if any membeers of Forest Stream are currently studying or have completed any university degrees? I found out that Dave Mustaine has completed three Uni degrees whilst deeply involved in his musical career and it's pretty inspiring. Im at Uni at the moment and have some friends and we are looking to put a band together, i introduced these guys to FS and they loved you guys, its just hard to balance study, work and music...

Actually all of us are either studying or have graduated from different Universities. I, personally, got my master in Moscow State Uni and then defended my Ph.D. thesis in the Netherlands, Leiden. It was related to the problems of Cryoelectronics and fundamental problems of Solid State Physics (Superconductivity and Ferromagnetism)...
Cheers

Sounds interesting, im currently studying a Ba. of Computer Science, specialising in Games. Did you have any career plans , say, as a backup, incase your music career fell through, or was it more of a personal goal for you? Im designing a series of games which i have based the concepts on Forest Stream, that is Sorrow, Hate, and Majesty. I think it will turn out well, there is alot of powerful emotion coming through which i have based on your atmospheric melodies, along with some other bands...

Hello, I'm new to these boards specifically but i joined mainly just to say, honestly, Forest stream is my favorite band, thank you guys for making the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I cannot wait for the new CD. I listen to Tears of Mortal solitude at least once every day and and Snowfall and Winter solstice are among the best songs ever made! ;)

As a reminder I have to say... the new CD will differ from the first one.

Your very welcome, I just hope you guys get the recognition you deserve and keep making the most meloncholy music possible, thanks for the inspiration. By the way, is there any place where i can see sheet music or tablature, for the guitar melodies, i cant find and transcriptions anywhere hehe. ttyl!
