...fuckin rules!!!!!

After the last few CD's, including the horrible "Projector", I was sitting there looking at it thinking "Oh man, this better not be fuckin gay....."

I threw it in and the first thing I heard on track 1 was a BLAST BEAT!!!! Yes, you read that correctly, a blast beat......After not doing blast beats in almost 10 fuckin years since "The Mind's I" the band has finally gotten back to their roots.

I've only heard the first 2 songs, but the first song has "The Gallery" and "Skydancer" written all over it. Now that they have keyboards, it kinda reminds me of SOILWORK "The chainheart machine" cause it's really fast yet has some slight keys atmosphere to it....The production kinda reminded me of "Chainheart" as well. The second song had a slight damage done feel to it, but still had the melodic catchiness of the earlier material.

Again this is only based on the first 2 songs.....but my friend who has the entire CD said the entire album pretty much sounds like the first 2 songs. It still has a dose of the "Damage Done" style blended with "The Gallery". I can't wait to fuckin get it.

joo talkin about the EP or Character? Every Dark tranquillity album is amazing, and I have no doubt that the next one will be to.

Is this out yet? Can't wait to hear it...the new track on EP was fucking awesome. I actually thought "Projector" was excellent; I have yet to be dissapointed by this absolutely brilliant band.
Has anyone seen the DVD?

Ill have to check it out i heard the new track released by Soilwork and I didnt think it was all that great in production this time around. Ill have to check it out in full quality, the song content is just as hardrockin as usuall.

The entire Character album.....No it hasn't been released yet, but my vocalist got it from somewhere.....must've burned off Soulseek or Kazaa or something.

No I still need to get that DVD. Strangely enough, Projector really grew on me after a while....it took a while, but I do enjoy a bit these days.

Yeah,i didnt like it much

I have the dvd ( as well as everything dark tranquillity has released) and while the sound quality is bad in a couple songs, its a great dvd overall. The video and audio is sometimes out of sync though

There's nothing wrong with Projector imo...good experiment done perfectly. Damage done proved that Dark tranquillity can write shorter songs so memorable and catchy, but CHARACTER...defintely one of the best releases of 2005 for sure. "My Negation" is on repeat still...
Kreator - Enemy of God is another awesome release...I like how they're incorporating alot more elements to their music nowadays, more dynamics...like Violent Revolution. 2005 better consistantly kickass.

Yeah, Kreator seem to have some melodic death elements incorporated into their style now. They're very much about harmonies these days, it isn't so much about playing fast and beating the snare to death. Although, there is a fair share of that too, hehe.

Nice to chat with you in places other than the Opeth forum Moonlapse ;) Yeah...if "Murder Fantasies" wasn't gothenburg enough, they have a great solo from Michael Amott on it. For a song so melodic, the lyrics are straight forward murderous(hense the title).
