The News Thread

Biden is keeping the gloves on right now because the DNC is shitting itself over the potential of another Berniebro exodus, so he's trying to be the nice moderate guy on stage. On stage with Trump, I will be severely disappointed if he doesn't challenge him to a push-up competition. Biden is a killer, deep down.

Biden not being able to complete a sentence definitely doesn't count against him if he's going up against Trump. It'll be like a fuckin' daycare on that stage.
you actually think Biden is mentally capable of challenging Trump on the mic? Lmao. Very few people, let alone a dude who's brain has melted down to a mango, can survive the quick-witted verbal assault that Trump dishes out on stage.

"You'd be in prison" was peak Trump. The following years have treated us to a lot of not-peak Trump. The guy embarrasses himself on a regular basis.

But he's embarrassed himself mostly at his own rallies, when he's under no pressure and faces virtually no challenge.

Also, I don't really think the "you'd be in jail" quip was all that quick. He'd stated immediately prior that he'd have his attorney general investigate her; and when she responded that it's good someone with his temperament isn't in office, he said "Because you'd be in jail." It was just an extension of what he'd already said.

Wit is a matter of perspective, but you really can't deny he's quick.
no one here is calling him a genius, but to deny that the man chews up people in a matter of seconds is undeniable.

Quick-Wiited - showing or characterized by an ability to think or respond quickly and effectively.

Wit - "a natural aptitude for using words and ideas in a quick and inventive way to create humor."

I'd say both of those definitions clearly describe the Trumpster.

yes, quick-witted. Did you not watch what he did to Hillary and the rest of the republican nominees in 2016? He'd use Biden as a punching bag, and let's not even get started on what he'd do to Bernie.

Regarding Trump's rallies, I don't think he's a natural at going on a monologue. You can find clips of a rally he did way back in 2000 during his Reform Party run, and he really wasn't that much better even then, still had similar rambling problems and arm flailing. He's a guy that has been surrounded by people his whole life and lived life by doing things good enough, he's all about natural talents rather than rigorous training and learned skills. But when he's being attacked, it seems to pump adrenaline into him and make him more focused. In any case, the MSM widely reported Trump as losing all three debates against HRC, and "nasty woman" and etc became forced memes to attack him with, and none of that mattered because the base was still fired up.

fwiw Sanders had some good, quick takes against HRC in 2016, like the Henry Kissinger burn. I think Sanders could bring some abrasion and insults to counter Trump's. Sanders' biggest problem is that he's really far to the left, running the furthest-left non-incumbent Democratic campaign ever in our history. All Trump has to do is bring up Sanders' support of Fidel Castro and other Latin American commies to kill any hopes of a Florida win, for example. And when Trump brings up that nearly every DNC candidate supported free healthcare for illegal aliens, Sanders will make himself look even worse when he tries to go for the bleeding-heart humanist defense. Sanders' best hope is that the neglected contingencies of ancient FDR-era lefties, tongue-biting trade unionists, and young commie zoomers turn out in record numbers to make up for those that won't be able to stomach Sanders.

Fair enough but it was still better than anything Hillary hit him with, and she did try a few times. He could have responded any other way, but she said he'd never be POTUS and so he doubled the venom in response to great effect. Also Tech brings up a good example, he decimated his Republican opponents. Now one might argue that's not exactly hard to do (lol Jeb) but still.

Shocker.

The researchers found that 96 per cent of those in the “Trump support” category shared junk news on Twitter in the days leading up to the State of the Union. This group also shared more junk news than any other group combined. On Facebook, 91 per cent of the “hard conservatives group” shared junk news – even more than members of the “conspiracy” group.

Gotta love the irony:

The President even unveiled a fake news awards last month, in which he handed out to those he deemed the “most corrupt & biased of the Mainstream Media”.

Outlets on the list included ABC, CNN, the Washington Post, and the New York Times. Breitbart and InfoWars were not included.

Not really ironic, unless you think 'fake news awards' has prestige and is objective rather than just political shitposting to piss people like you off, which would be the true irony, because it does.

Speaking of CNN, the gods of fake news, they're currently running with this "Bernie is a sexist" thing, and I just watched Ana Kasparian of all people decimate Fredo in a segment on the subject.
