The Obsidian Conspiracy- Matt Smith's Version

"Well all of the people I talk to call them prog." Really? THAT many people know about and listen to Theocracy? I find that hard to believe. I listen to and enjoy the band (which is quite funny because I am actually anti-christian and anti-religion) but I would hardly consider myself within their legions of fans (because they don't have THAT many). I think this is just another classic case of you talking out of your ass and not really knowing what in the fuck you are talking about.

And I think its a classic case of you just posting in this thread to tell people you know Matt so you can feel special..... dude just piss the fuck off.

1st and foremost they are fairly known thanks to Matt spamming the fuck out of you tube every 30 seconds with some video.

2nd I have friends that I discuss him with quite frequently actually, some of them actually suggested the band for Prog Power which is how this all got started with me anyway, I don't feel they fit the "prog" label at all. To me they aren't all that good, just Matt has some talent. It was even suggested that I talk to him about joining the prog metal band I had together for some time, or at least recording vocals on the CD we were working on. Which never was finished by the way.

3rd your opinion of Matt makes no difference in this thread what so ever, so that's even more proof you, and the dick saying "I'm gonna tell Matt" are just name dropping.

Got your such a cunt. Go get lost in the snow.

Oh, this is going to be fun... :)

First of all, if I wanted to name drop anyone, it wouldn't be Matt, I could easily name drop other musicians who's bands are bigger than Theocracy by many times, that I happen to be friends with. I won't do that here because I'm not one of those people. Secondly, I've known Matt since before their first ever show, before their album was ever released, etc... I wouldn't insult him or our friendship by just senseless namedropping him in this instance or any other, for that matter (not that it would matter anyways, as they aren't a very big band at all). Third, I'm very happy for you that you and your little circle of friends discuss them quite frequently, but that doesn't make you all right in terms of what genre they are (they aren't prog) and also, if you knew what in the fuck you were talking about, you would know they had already played Progpower, quite a few years ago. I think that it's funny that you called them prog but when called out on it, you immediately said that you don't think they are prog, but your friends do. Why the back-peddling? You running for office somewhere? Lastly "got your such a cunt. Go get lost in the snow somewhere.", brilliant! I haven't heard enough snow jokes from living in MN, wow, I'm so glad you were able to use one there. How about, instead of talking out of your ass on this forum, among people who it seems you just try and get a rise out of, why don't you use some simple fucking grammar skills and try not getting so mad yourself. I love how your post made me in no way, shape, or form, change my current mood (which is great, by the way), but it seems to me that by your post it seems you probably have a vein protruding from your forehead right now.

Up until this thread I had no idea who Theocracy are, and who is Matt.
Wait, I still don't know who those people are, I am just aware of their 'name' now.
(and no, I didn't click on the youtube video either)

Dude ... I didn't back peddle at all are you fucking retarded?

Read again clean the shit out of your eyes and read again. I don't think they are prog, my friends do..... in case you didn't get it the first time.

Now onto prog power, like I said my friends suggested them for Prog power, not once did I say they didn't play. Why would I even bring it up if I didn't know they played it.... once again flawed logic on your part.

The reference I made in my OP was to Prog-Heads not Theocracy, then you came in spouting how I don't know my genres bla bla bla...... Dick they are fairly known in the prog community which makes my comment about the Prog-Heads more then relevant especially since they played "PROG" power .... god your a fucking idiot.

As for being a grammar nazi ... thats just LOLZ .... Thats just a fatal attempt at TRYING to prove a point that makes no difference. Putting your socks on the right feet is more important then internet grammar .... what a douche

By the way Mr. Asshat... my OP

Quite simply Orb's version captured the spirit of Nevermore. It was very "Warrel-esq" which is why in my opinion it is far superior to Matt's

While Matt is a good vocalist, his style does not fit the power or the aggression that is Nevermore. If WD sang like Matt I wouldnt listen to Nevermore period.

As for the "prog-heads" they all have that "I am always right" attitude. It was the same thing on the DT and SymphonyX Boards. Everyone who dosn't agree with them is a an idiot and everyone who doesn't think "tey arz ta bezt ting sinz slicd bredz" is a fag..... Typical prog-head mentality.

Did I call them prog in there at all? Am I blind?

So in other words ... FUCK OFF DOUCHE!

I can't even read your entire post here without convulsing from laughter. You didn't back-peddle at all, but yet you went from calling them a progressive band to saying that you don't think they are a progressive band, your friends do. Typically, when I have a different opinion than my friends, I don't go around sharing their opinion as my own. "Now onto prog power, like I said my friends suggested them for Prog power, not once did I say they didn't play. Why would I even bring it up if I didn't know they played it.... once again flawed logic on your part." This paragraph makes no sense, but I'm glad you're trying. As for your paragraph, about them being fairly known in the "prog" community, I disagree, as I don't know many people who know who they are outside of the progpower festival community, and those in Europe who saw them at the festival they played last year and the small European tour that they did. They have played exactly one show in the US outside of the southeast, and that was in San Antonio at Nightmare Metal Fest 2, last year. So, no, I don't think they are all that fairly known, or there would have been more people there for the festival (which did pretty poorly by the way). They did pretty well at Progpower when they played a few years ago, but you also have to realize that Progpower represents a very small part of the prog, power, or even metal community, hence why it is only attended by a sold out crowd of about 1,500 every year. Lastly, as for your emphasis on PROGpower, actually far more power metal bands play the festival than progressive metal bands, so that makes that point invalid.

I just had two poached eggs with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper on top of some delicious multi grain toast.
