the official IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID reccomendation thread

Their website is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow, but I guess they are doom so maybe that's why. :loco:

This band plays atmospheric Doom-metal in the vein of old Anathema and My Dying Bride. Lush piano parts and good mixture of vocal work (incl. whisper-like vocals and spoken word) ensures that the music remains interesting and creates a very sad, romantic atmosphere. The music varies from very quiet, atmospheric, frail and melodic stuff, to sometimes just downright brutal Death/Doom.

Decsription taken from doom-metal.com, they have a full-length sample there.

The samples I listened to yesterday were damn good, I'd like hear a whole song though. Guess I'll go to doom-metal.com..

Dude, I should have sent you a cd-r. I know I sent one to JK. I am moved every time I listen to this album. I'm sure you, J., and probably Erik would enjoy it as well. ...and to think that this is their debut.

I'm probably going to pick that up, the one sample I heard was stuck in my head for a few hours afterwards, that's saying something. Real emotional stuff, no?

I'm talking about Mar De Grises by the way, whoops.

Everything about that album is jaw dropping. His voice, the instrumentation, the story, the repetitive music which accompanies the story themes. :drip:

I should mention this album in the metal bands w/ stories thread.

That album is indeed awe-inspiring...many people find the album cold because of its instrumentation, but I think it's a rare case where the technicality of the music adds immensely to the album's feel, and it matches the album's themes perfectly...it manages to sound mechanical and highly emotional at the same time.

New Zero Hour early next year (finally...)
