The official movie thread

I love Tim Burton but Charlie was a little disappointing anyway Christopher Lee rules!

the acting was great, it was very imaginative but most of all it had a good story because in the the creator left it open to whether or not it was all in her head or not.

*SPOILAAARRRGHH*

Well actually, I don't think the director left it open because there was this scene where the girl goes into the captain's room by using the chalk in order to draw a door for her entrance. Besides, she could see into the future.

I saw Ghost Rider.

It was mediocre (5/10), good lead actor and good secondary actor but the others sucked and story had too many holes in it, after I finished watching it I felt like everything moved too predictably and obvious.

The Departed is amazing. Saw it in theaters and bought it last Tuesday.

I can't wait for The Prestige to come out, too.

Also, Wallace and Grommit and the Curse of the Wererabbit. That movie was strangely amazing.

Aye, that movie was brilliant! There were so many damn twists... Good stuff.

On my list of kick ass films:

Taegukgi -- Korean movie recently made about the Korean War. Absolutely breathtaking. I recommend it to all.

A Bridge Too Far -- An oldie out of the 70s about the battle for the Arnhem bridge in Holland. Highlights include true to life scenes, directors who finally realized that all German troops were not ruthless asswipes, awesome dialogue, great acting, and an actual plot. So many older WWII movies lack the whole plot thing!

Letters from Iwo Jima -- See it. I command all of you. So damn moving.

The Descended is damn good!
I've seen it 3 times.. once by myself and twice with a different friend
it's god damn blood all the way and it's got a very eerie and creepy feeling to it, plus with the claustrophobic feeling present

Saw 'Blood Diamond" the other night.

Ace film. Not a classic, hope it DOESN'T win at the Oscars. Leo's South Africa accent is shit. But really good. Terrible Hollywood ending. But still worth seeing. Would recommend it.

yeah, I liked blood diamond. What spoilt it for me was the cinema forgetting to change the film spools and the film cutting out half way through. lol

Watched severance the other day, awesome film.. the gore made me laugh to the shock of my mother.

Also watched silence of the lambs again the other day.. love that movie :D "it rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again" hehehe :D

I have seen "ghost rider" on friday ...worst movie i have ever seen, haha ...but it was some kind of funny to watch that shit with my mates, i were laughing that much that tears got into my eyes^^

my fav movies (sorry, sometmes i just know the german names): au tension (french horror movie, so awesome), saw pt 1, die hard pt 3, was das herz begehrt, leon der profi, sleepers , and so on

The Departed was absolutely great. It's got a highly acclaimed cast and a very good story line. Directed by Martin Scorsessee (spelling?). You can't go wrong with this picture. It is very violent but I can't image that bothering anyone in here.

has anybody seen lynch's latest?

inland empire i believe its called

Whoa, I gotta check this out ASAP! Lynch has become one of my favourite film makers, and I have just watched Eraserhead with my bro the other night - a-mazing movie! The film is packed with all these awkward moments that make you think "wtf?" but in a very cool way. The dialogue kicks ass (and there really isn't much to begin with), the sound is phenomenal and really builds tension throughout the creepy-vibed story and finally the lighting and his trademark camera angles are just spot-on. It was his first feature film and I was so impressed by the quality of it.

Hopefully, Inland Empire is pretty fucked up like his previous films. I'll look into it.
