The Official Movie Thread

Man, I was SO excited when I heard above a new TMNT movie... then I realized it wasn't gonna be live action... which means it sucks balls... then I just lost all interest. For fuck's sakes... WHYY!?!?! That was the gayest thing ever. It disappointed me more than when I realized Charlie and the Chocolate factory was gonna be a cunt-tastic remake instead of a sequel to Willy Wonka. The fuck? NOTHING CAN TOP GENE WILDER/THE ORIGINAL MOVIE! NO-FUCKIN-THING! God some people shouldn't get to make movies!

Dude, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Tim Burton is way more near the book than that Willy Wonka thing, even if this one is a classic. The original book kick both ass anyway.

i just got back from spider-man 3. few things that sucked. 1)emo parker (although he didn't QUITE qualify as emo cuz he can still seriously kick ass, which contradicts that becase all emos are little whiny bitches)...2)WWAAYYY not enough venom 3)kinda cheesy in some parts and 4)too many bad guys therefore way too cluttered with random cuts to other storylines and such. imho, they should have just stuck with the venom storyline the whole way. the one baddie approach seemed to work for the first 2 movies, and those rocked. plus venom is awesome. anyway it was cool. lots of cool action sequences and ass kicking. definitely worth it. anyway thats my 2 cents. i also wanna see hot fuzz, cuz Pegg and Frost are fucking rad!

fuck the spiderman series. i hate those movies.

if ya'll want to see a GOOD movie, i suggest you watch Eyes Wide Shut. it's a Kubrick film and it's just genius. i've watched it like 3 times in the past week :loco:

what is it you dislike about the spiderman movies?

just the typical, generic plot. superhero saves the day/world and gets the girl at the end. and it's just soo damn hollywood. i can't stand movies like that sometimes. there's no real meaning behind them, it's just idiotic entertainment for the dumb masses. and toby maguire and kirsten dunst in that movie make me go :erk:

now, on the opposite end of the spectrum you have movies like Requiem for a Dream, Donnie Darko, Apocalypse Now, Fight Club, Eyes Wide Shut, Waking Life...and as strange as these movies are (not nearly as strange as David Lynch movies :heh:), they are different and are worth spending your time on. most IFs tend to be like that.

Troy:

Absence of gods.

Achilles never entered Troy. He was murdered before.

Hector DOES NOT kill Menelaus.

Brad Pitt CANNOT be Achilles

You can add that there was something totally shitty into this (shitty) movie : it has been filmed in Mexico, ok. BUT THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST REMOVED THE LLAMAS WANDERING ALL ALONG THE MOVIE !! HOW CAN LLAMAS APPEAR IN ANCIENT GREECE !?

Grindhouse was Good.. Planet Terror > Death Proof.. I didnt like in death proof how it started out and Kurt was built up as this major bad ass and then when he got fucked with towards the end (the car chase) he cried like a little bitch. and it ended to soon. i didnt really like the conclusion. But Planet Terror was fucking awesome.

I agree that those movies are way better than Hollywood structure movie, but in general people who like those movie don't like the Hollywood one (That's not an agression, as I don't know you) - just for the "I'm more intelligent than that and I don't listen to easy movie because I worth more". They are made for entertainment, and they are doing their job.

Movie like Spiderman are for (after the money) making live a character that made us dream in our youth. If you liked Aquaman when you where a young boy/girl by exemple and never listened to Spiderman, you'll prefer a shitty Aquaman than a badass supereffects Spiderman.

if you haven't seen it yet....The Departed. awesome

nice quote:) , but i like "What, are you on your period?" better. did you like the movie (i'm not being sarcastic)?

That's one hella movie. I love the main song, it rawk.

i thought so too :p it was kinda like "what the hell" for the first 10 minutes or so and then it was non-stop from there. i'm not a big dicaprio fan, but he killed in this movie! and mark walhberg was fuckin' hilarious :headbang:
i particularly loved the scene with jack nicholson tellin' off the father and the nuns...."Enjoy your clams, cocksuckers"....excellent

Well, he may be look like a pop star but Dicaprio is actually a very good actor.
