EDIT: i have most of it downloaded, but i still havent wanted to really listen to it because i would prefer to just get the album and fall in love with it that way, otherwise i know what im like.. if i get used to it on my ipod now i wont end up buying it..

It's doom, so something most folks here won't like. think early day "Turn loose the swans" era My Dying Bride. The melodies are unsurpassed though.

Yeah, just came out in europe last week (the 7th) and my copy was on pre-order. I just now got them in the mail. It was supposed to come with extras, but those should be arriving tomorrow or the next day. I've ordered from htis particular webshop before and they kick ass.

No. Mostly death metal vocals, but some clean (actually quite similar to opeth as far as clean/death goes, though much focus on death)

No offense dude but why in hell did you even make that post? Have you listened to the last 6 SX albums at all? Did you not read MJR's thoughts on nu-metal? Does anybody really think that any member of SX has the capacity to sell out? They're all about the pr0g-metuhL!!! baby, you have nothing to worry about trust me


I hope its more in the vein of V then the Odyssey, I do like the less proggy more straight up metal approach of the Odyssey but I don't want them to make another album like that I prefer material from Divine wings, Twilight and V. But I also hope they pull out some new tricks, something SX fans won't expect and something SX have never done before.

I have no doubts that I will really enjoy the new album because SX are a fucking consistent band if I ever heard one. Im pretty sure this will make my top 5 of 2007 purely based on the fact that this is SX. Michael and crew know exactly what they and their fans want and they know how to deliver, one of the interviews I read ages ago stated that the new material will somewhat be a crossover of Divine wings and Odyssey so one might say I am pretty excited about this release.

The race is on as to whether Dream Theater or Symphony X will release their next album first.

Obviously, everything that has gone wrong for Symphony X in rekeasing Paradise Lost has gone wrong, so I would rofl if Dream Theater's all like "We've gotta win the race, for the sake of the countless Romeo v Petrucci threads around the world!" and then something tragic is gonna happen, and I'll be all like "Who called it people? Post #318 in the Paradise Lost thread."
