i'm sure everyone here would like some updates and more info - but getting all angry isn't going to get you updates. Attacking people isn't going to get you anywhere either - apart from a place on the ban list.

As for the lack of info on the new CD .... doesn't the 'mystery' of it all actually make things a bit more exciting when its finally unveiled?

hey, I wasn't the one attacking first...DoomsdayZach attacked me, and I just gave it right back...oh, and just ask Guns N' Roses fans how FUN waiting forever for an album release with no real updates is...actually, rather than making anything more exciting, it takes AWAY excitement because you lose anticipation for the album and hell, I could half care less about it right now because it is so far in the future that there is no sense getting excited about something...it is like the people constantly getting excited about Duke Nukem Forever...if it is never released, as good of a game as it may EVENTUALLY be, it will build up SUCH anticipation that it can't HELP to be a disappointment...

Oh, one last thing...when Megadeth, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, and Sonata Arctica are all beating you out almost all 2-1 in album releases (BG is the only one not, and they have a Live DVD out), that is sad...oh, and so is Arjen Anthony Lucasson, Pain of Salvation, etc...

I don't want to hear about how long tool is between albums...they fuckin' broke up (or at least temp split)...i.e. Maynard in A Perfect Circle...

Last I heard, SymX hasn't broken up...

i dont disagree with however, i too think its a little concerning that we've heard nothing since December for an album that will be out within the next 3 to 4 months. (at least we are assuming that is the case)

At the same time, knowing that this is the most likely time period of release (as there are confirmed shows in May and June) reassures me that we will most likely see an update and more details in the very near future - so i'm happy with waiting.

since when were bands competing for how many albums they can release in a certain time? Symphony X have chosen (and sometimes not due to certain circumstances) to take their time with this album. Just because Dream Theater can churn out releases every year or so doesn't mean Symphony X has to as well.

Confirmed shows doesn't mean that the new album will be released...PLENTY of times since they have been working on this album, they have went out and played live...confirmed shows means nothing...

My BIGGEST complaint with this whole thing is: give the fans SOMETHING...

During Blind Guardian's 5-year hiatus from album-writing, they gave the fans an AMAZING DVD
Same with Sonata Arctica between Reckoning Night and their next album, being worked on now...
Same with Kamelot, a band that I can't imagine is much larger (popularity) than SymX...
DT has a DVD out after almost every album AND they have "Official Bootlegs" including DVDs...

SymX has a new Fanclub ($35 for 1 CD with 6 total tracks only 1 of which is REALLY worth much, an autographed Photo and a windshield sticker), and 2 Live songs on the Gigantour DVD...that's IT..

The sad part is that unless someone from outside of SymX leaked the W.i.P. cover-art, we wouldn't even have a clue about that!

You make it seem as though the "updates" even really say anything/really provide ANY info...we know jack shit about the upcoming CD...let's see, I'll even list out what we know thanks to Jax's "updates" (i.e., the carrot held out of reach with just enough shreds given to keep fans under control)..

1. Paradise Lost - The album title and title track name
2. It will have 1 epic song
3. It is "supposed" to be out in the spring, but it is almost spring and a date hasn't even been pinpointed yet...

and that is about all we know about it...we don't even know an ESTIMATED number of songs, let alone the number or title of any songs on the album outside of PL, or even the TOPIC of any songs other than Paradise Lost...what WONDERFUL updates...they really tell a ton, don't they!

secondly let's discuss PL for a moment. Paradise Lost is the album title. Number of songs, pieces, or interludes has not been finalized. Working song titles have not been made available to anyone in any mass consumable form. The lid is being kept tight on the box of surprises for a reason. You have NO RIGHT to know any of that information until it is made public.

Oh and spring is the time between March 21st and June 21st. If it comes out later than that, feel free to find a form that would like to hear your anger. WE've all been waiting a long time. And I know i stated earlier in this thread that the 5 year thing isn't really a good measuring stick. 5 years is officially up in November of 2007.

Lighten up and think. The band is busy working on an album that is due out soon. And the PL artwork was a leak and it wasn't finalized artwork either.

Bring your hatred on to me lad, for I could give a fuck less what you personally think about myself. Jax has done nothing but pass along the information that she is given from the band. There are bands that don't do the internet thing. They do not bow to every whim that comes up. They focus on the music and let that be the mark that defines who they are.

Hell, even Rhapsody of Fire, Sonata Arctica, Luca Turilli solo, etc have forums for band-related topics, and separate forums for General Topics...here, we have the musicians forum, and the SymX forum...that's it, and forces you to post in a SPORTS THREAD?? Are you serious? Sports is WAAYY too broad of a topic to fit in one thread...that would be like making a Music thread and saying that all posts about Music have to be in that thread...

You've said WAY too much shit for me to even care to respond to, so I'll stay with this:

I've posted on this forum on and off since the release of the odyssey, and been into the band for longer than that. And honestly, these days Symphony X is far from the top of my playlist. I'm not a fanboy, hell at this point I'm hardly a proper fan. I don't own all of their material anymore, and the only album I even still fully enjoy is V, which I think is genius. There have been times where I disagree with the way this forum is run and I have done my best to communicate this to Jax in the most eloquent way possible. I enjoy some of the bands work, but have stayed a part of the community because I respect the band and have made a lot of friends here.

I'm a black, death, folk, doom metal guy. I like the extremes, I like the darkness, and other than a few songs here and there, Symphony X doesn't offer much of that. I still love the guys, one of the coolest groups of guys i've ever met. They do go out of their way for their fans, and just because they don't come to your door with a silver platter with the masters of the new album on it doesn't mean they don't give a shit about the fans.

Here's a story. One of my favorite bands (susperia) goes into the studio. After they've been in the studio for a few months there's a post on blabbermouth saying "They have entered the studio". Then a few weeks later they're done, and holy shit look at that! New album ain't due out for a few months still! I talk to the bassist online here and there and before ANYTHING (album title, song titles) was released, he sent me a new unmastered song and the ENTIRE BOOKLET LAYOUT under the condition I don't share it, which I honor because they're a band I respect. Do you think i said to him "Well it's ABOUT TIME YOU FUCKER! I've been waiting for this album to come out!!!"???

About Jax being a nazi. Yeah, you know, i agree... and i think she should live up to that nazi reputation and ban you to be quite honest. I know i wouldn't miss you around here.

OMG...geeze...you just don't really get it...you realize that if SymX would handle things the right way (for example, instead of having to have a Budokan/Score performance in order for a DVD to be released, they put out a For the Sake of Revenge-esque DVD to hold the fans over - Their eventual Live DVD doesn't have to be OMG 100% PERFECT TRUEHD 7.1 Sound on a Blu-Ray disc to be good and over the years that's the impression that I get in order for them to release a DVD...), People like you MIGHT still be full SX fans...see people don't tend to have 5 years worth of patience...if you don't provide, people will find other music that satisfies that desire...

You seem to have taken my point completely wrong. The point was that i'm not a fanboy, though even had they released 10 albums between the odyssey's release and now, it would be the same thing. My tastes have evolved past this. It's not about a band keeping my attention. I used to like hammerfall too. They've released a few discs and dvds since then as well. Doesn't matter, i just don't care anymore is the point. I'm not as into the style anymore as i once was.

Maybe when you grow up and go through puberty, you will find YOUR tastes changing beyond what you used to enjoy. In a few years, you'll no longer be waiting to come home from school with your little lunchbox in hand, sitting in front of the tv which is switched to the disney channel, excited to see what whacky antics Mickey and the gang are up to today! No, you might want go out, find some hobby's, maybe date a nice girl, get your drivers license... you know, grown up stuff.

lol...I am quite grown-up, I assure you...21, actually...no longer watch disney (though I do know some other 21-year-olds that do), and have musical tastes that have ventured beyond SX, but only becuase you can only listen to the same albums so many times...
