this was based on the idea that homosexuality couldn't possibly be natural, apparently homosexuality had to be caused by some kind of traumatic "trigger event" and that being molested by a pedophile was somehow one of the types of trauma that could cause a child to grow up to become a homosexual

this theory is obviously completely bullshit, but it's the explanation of "conflating" homosexuality with pedophilia
