The Pimp Newly Discovered (by You) Bands Thread

Arkan, and they just released their debut this year, called Hilal, and I just checked it out, and I am loving it. They are tagged as arabian progressive/melodic death metal, and it works for them. Good cleans and growls, and they kind of remind me of a heavier Orphaned Land, so if you like Orphaned Land, this is definately something you NEED to check out.

New one I found just today SONS OF SEASONS with Henning Basse on vocals, and Kamelot Keyboardist Oliver Palotai. They sound pretty damn good from the clips i heard on their website.

These guys have been out for a few years but I just found them..

Angtoria

People may remember Chris Rehn when he played keys for Evergrey at PPUSA 2.0

Good choice. I put their "God Has a Plan for Us All" in my top three albums for the year it came out. It's a very solid album IMO. Can't wait to hear what else this group does. The video for the single it pretty interesting as well.

Yes, with Sara Jezebel Deva on female vox, no?
Yes, from Cradle of Filth (well, their back-up singer). This woman does not get enough credit. She has an amazing voice and a pretty good range, hitting lows I typically don't here from most women in metal (unless maybe they're growling).

Oh and while we are throwing out bands that have been out a few years, here's one I picked up awhile ago and just recently re-discovered in my collection:

Penumbra

(Sorry for the MySpace haters. I couldn't find a working website. Maybe it's down. - www.penumbra.fr)

Combine Theatre of Tragedy, Orphand Land and In Extremo. Mix well. Enjoy!

I just heard of this band called Dream Theater or Dreaming Theater or something like that... They play instruments and stuff... aparently they've been struggling in the underground for well over 10 years now, I think they will make it big some day... but they will have to work on their skills...:muahaha:

Holy CRAP!

Frost*!!! This album Milliontown from 2006 is blowing my ass away...and I've been sick of the genre for a while now and this hooked me out of nowhere.

Fucking AWESOME album! :kickass:

Appearance of Nothing's album Wasted Time has been kicking my ass for a while.
