I've been through a couple Doom phases. Let me suggest YOB to you. VERY cool stuff. Also, if you like St. Vitus, you might like Witchfinder General and some other old-school stuff. Electric Wizard is cool too.

I usually am into doom, but I'm very squared and I don't like stoner, sludge, or drone doom, but some bands that most definitively worth check are:

Cathedral (although they tend to cross to stoner oftenly)
