On a note that won't get the shit kicked out of me by the rest of the boards, play Black Star by Carcass. The song has no offensive lyrics and the vocals are growly without being untintelligable. It's catchy to

Here is what you should do. Play some lame easy listening song for the audition or just tell them that is what you are going to play. Then on the day of the show, START playing that song but after about 30 seconds or so switch into whatever death/black metal song you want to do. Keep playing until they pull the plug or drag you off the stage. Now THAT is a show.

Edit: And don't forget to have someone get video footage of the event.

Sad and all as it may be not everyone likes metal (I pity them).
Try to find a metal bar to play in because people are not going to decide to listen to black/death metal just because it is presented to them it would probably be better to play to ten metal fans than a thousand eminem fans. Extreme metal is something people seek out they wont just listen to it because it's there. If theres no metal bar then fuck it the greys suggestion sounds good you might as well get laid.
