What the hell.... My school wont allow our band to play anything we like in a concert. Its " too much of that hard rock music" aka.... black metal... I think we should be able to play whatever the hell we want to... its a damn concert run by kids at the end of the year..

What are some GOOD death metal songs that arent too over the edge for the pussy people in the audience.. but still could be great to play?

Give me your best suggestions.

Find out the name of the teacher, administrator or faculty that is making this decision. Give them a copy of the lyrics that your band will be performing. If there are no offensive lyrics, most of their argument will be negated. If there are, change them for this show.

If this doesn't get you on the school concert, have the parents of all band members start calling the school in protest. Further, advise these faculty members that you'll contact the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the local press that you're being discriminated against because of your choice of music - they may back off simply because your music stylings could be construed as a lifestyle choice. If this still doesn't work, do a protest outside the school grounds on the sidewalk (with signs, banners, etc.) after school complaining that you're being treated unfairly (be sure to list all faculty involved that says you can't play).

As for song suggestions, I can't recommend anything. Most adults progressively lose more of their sense of humor as they get older and are sure to declare all Black or Death Metal as offensive. Personally, I'd be inclined to perform Morbid Angel's Where The Slime Live.

If they do put you on the bill, be sure to thank those staff that allowed you to perform.
