It's something FB are doing to their images and videos that is stopping some but not all things being hotlinked. Still not sure what it is but the nerds on the nerd forum I frequent are starting to notice it happening and it's annoying them so they are looking at options to get around it

It might be a while, they got scared about a new exploit in Windows which is leaving pretty much all Windows computers open to hackers until MS figure out how to close the hole. Nerds on standby!
