my definition of death metal is: heavy metal music with death vocals. so COB, to me, are death metal. bands like deicide, soilent green and such are brutal death metal.

power metal is poppy metal, with lyrics about dragons. its all good tho

Cool. I will be on the look out for that one too. I get the feeling this is one of those bands that you have to check out all their stuff to get a good idea of what the band is about....

not all of it! that's what i always talk about two kinds of power metal, the gay and the non gay breeds...
old and new Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy, etc are all non gay power metal; Strato, Sonata Arctica, Freedom Call, Rhapsody are all gay power metal

i mostly love all of non gay power metal, and from gay power metal some bands really make up for the gayness in other ways... Sonata Arctica for example has way too many (where i actually mean WAY TOO FUCKING MANY) love songs and other gay elements, but they still rule with composing and vocal lines
Freedom Call is the perfect definition of gay metal hehe but they still have great songs... if you can stand all the cheesyness

Well, I got the disc in the mail last night. This is the version with 10 tracks. After listening to it a few times, I have to say that this is a great band & I will check out their other stuff. If this is mediocre, their other stuff must be excellent. I think this is metal the way it should be done & like a lot of the underground bands out there, they put these numetal bands to shame. Thanks for the replies to this thread(they were helpful) & I'll be looking for their other records soon.
