The "they'll never stop me from downloading music" thread

won't stop me....i don't think we've gone nazi in canada yet....then again, I haven't been paying close attention

True, to an extent. There are definitely people who'll pay if things get more convenient, but a large portion of the downloading population with unjust sense of entitlement aren't like that. If CD's were released for three cents per CD, they'd probably still download it for free.

My rule for digital media is this: if the product/service I want is not made available at a price I consider reasonable, I will obtain it myself for free through whatever means, and the opportunity to make money off me will be lost.

Truly though, I have no problem paying $12 for a CD so I am not compelled to seek out music downloads.

My problem is consistency. I almost never have more than two songs from an album, because albums rarely have good more than two good songs.

Very few bands can create a good album as a whole. Which is why Borknagar and Nevermore are the only bands I own the entire discography from.

Was taking a dump the other day and reading an old Playboy I've got in there from about 1999/2000, and I noticed something that made me chuckle. Speaking of downloading music, the writer said something akin to, "This December when the record companies figure out how to successfully market downloading music, expect the industry to explode." I had to  because that's what they SHOULD have done early on but they didn't, and now no one thinks twice about pirating music.
