First of all, this entire song rocks. No wonder Martin Lopez said in an interview that this was his favorite on the cd.

I heard some negative remarks about this segment of the song, but I truly cannot understand how anyone could not like this portion of the song...The drumming, the melody, the background, the atmosphere, the repetitiveness, the subtle changes throughout the segment...it fucking rocks (insert period here)

Oh man, that has got to be my favorite part of the album. Repetition at it's finest, subtle changes throughout the whole passage, but it just has this certain mood about. I played the song for my girlfriend the other day and she was pretty speechless.

I've heard it a million times, not tired of it yet. It gives me a nice feeling too, that is hard to put into words.

i didn't like the 1010 part when i firs heard it,but after continual listening to the cd for a month straight i have to say it is the perfect ending.Deliverance and for absent friends are my favs.I like to think of them as 1 song

i like it. teh long ending reminds me of their "In Mist she was Standing" and MDB's "The Crown of Sympathy". neither of the 3 endings sound alike, it's just that they are long and sound great!

I absolutely love this passage of Deliverance. Of all of Opeth, aside from the brutal intro to 'When' from MAYH, I probably feel the need to headbang the most during this passage from Deliverance....in fact, the whole song rocks.

Can't wait to hear it live...
